backlong before they had the fancy lights they had flags that were not very large. If a train is running at speed which it appears to be the case here the crew would have little time to do more then pray that the train does derail and kill them. This is not cool in any manner

Most motorized switches like this one have locks on them. Only trains crews have the necessary keys. It looks like someone forgot this rule and left it off on a previous move. And yes I worked for the Great Northern railroad in 1966 and I was authorized those necessary keys.
