In WHL land, you need to likely get one at 14/15. Barf. Why do they do that?

Nice. I subscribed to Stefano’s channel this morning without knowing he will show up here. I’m from the place where he played his junior and I’m full right… so he’s my new favorite youtuber. Great video!

Would you ever play high tier adult rec hockey? I'm honestly enjoying playing hockey and other sports now as a 30 year old just playing with a bunch of people coming out to have fun than I used to have playing competitive sports and college sports when I was younger.

Jamie, I feel you man. It's always hard to look at yourself playing. Everything always looks different, good or bad, from when you're there in the moment. I feel that we know what we are supposed to do, hence why we like teaching others the best or most logical option, but in reality, sometimes things don't go the way we know they should or have practised them. Sometimes it's just a "read and react" situation. It doesn't always look pretty lolll. We can go through scenario drills all we want, but when we are in the action of things, we recognise a situation, read the possible outcomes, react to it by engaging as per the situation and all of a sudden it all goes sideways and you have to readjust in a fraction of a second and now you have to be in a different position or use a different save selection or go by pure reflex and instincts. Read and react... It's fun shit though, right! lolll. Keep it coming man. Good stuff. Rich

Very interesting seeing you critique yourself and also impress your future self knowing how dissatisfied you may have been at the time with your play. Retirement is always the hardest thing to do especially if the ability is still there. Great watch.

So, it looks like we still need to track shots, scoring opps (shoutout to keek's and his simple Goalie effeciency tracker), etc. Anyone know which AI can edit (just a highlight of the shots on net) quickly? I take way too long with the behind the net go pro. This looks decent, and for the price, might try it out, but it has the same issue (I am the editor).

He looks exactly like a young Marc-Andre Fleury. I would love to see a video comparison, it's uncanny. He struggled greatly for several years in the NHL before calming down and letting his athleticism work after he was in position.

I'd love to hear your take on Robertson's 3rd goal on Skinner in game 3 WCF and whether he would have made that save with toe bridge to post instead of skate to post.

Lundy himself said there’s a time for it, except too many goalies are defaulting to it when completely unnecessary and allowing what are truly stoppable shots hit having played in a more traditional manner.

The King is correct. My son who plays youth hockey lives with opposing goalies do the RVH. He snipes up top and scores all the time. The is a time and place for the RVH. The King says that. He says that if you use it too early in the play then you will get burned.

I think you got some points, but the RVH has it limits and it over use. there were two goals last week scored like that in playoff. also at the NHL level the players can put the puck where they want it so using that puck view its useless cause there playing at the highest level and they put it where they want it .

90% of AAA , even AA to an extent below Bantam was nepotism lol
@RandomGuyCDN
@RandomGuyCDN 19 күн бұрын
Yep. Had a former coworker that said he could never crack AAA because the coaches just didnt like him for some reason. In high school in 08ish our gym teacher was dumb enough to do floor hockey for the 1 hour class and part of the class was AAA kids. I was stuck in since low A because my attitude was shit (looking back i could have handled it better but we learn) and those AAA kids were against me (I played goal since I was 9) and those guys skills were no better than any of the kids I'd play against in winter hockey. Just a bunch of nepo's even back then. My sister whos 3 years younger than me also played and the only reason why my parents could afford to put her in AA was because I quit playing in 04 so the money they would have spent on me all funneled to her so she could play AA.

It’s the same in the US - at least in many areas. I’m hearing that they’re forming a 10U AAA team at one of the big centers near us. That just seems insane to me. Further, hockey (at least where we live) has really become a case of the “have’s and the have not’s” - especially in girls hockey. The supplemental lessons, camps, academies, ON TOP of the incredibly high league fees and travel makes it basically untouchable financially.

Yep. Here in my Canadian league (relatively small, 7 towns, 2 cities/8 teams) there were 700 kids cut from rep in the U16 division alone. My brother (Who is U16) played AA last year but got pushed down to B. So much potential was lost. The Euro style seems much better
