Wonderful interview from an enlightening writer and nomad! Ralph Waldo Emerson, a transcendentalist, said, "To be great is to be misunderstood." You have to live your life on your terms. No one else will live your life for you. The only time they do is when you follow their footsteps exactly. That's like trying to wear someone else's shoes when they don't fit your feet. Your footprint is uniquely yours, make your path your own path.

I have been following these amazing women for years. They are truely inspirational. They work all year round on their fitness so they are able to hike and cycle in their retirement years. Their financial outlays must be covered by good pensions/investments. It's not cheap to travel even though they have an RV.

Yes from the interview we could tell that they are as smart as they are ambitious. They make it look easy but we can see how hard they have worked to make the life they want work for them. Truly inspiring!

It's always great to hear more of Kristy and Annette's story, they are so inspirational! And if anyone is thinking they're too old; Grandma Gatewood was 67 the FIRST time of 3, that she thru-hiked the AT. And Nimblewill Nomad was 83 the most recent time he did it. And he's done the entire AT in the US, plus the IAT in Canada, more than once. 😊 When I grow up, I want to be Grandma Gatewood 😊 I'm 57 this year 😂

These women are inspiring,engaging, authentic, and incredibly strong. After watching their KZbin channel for a while, had the pleasure of randomly meeting them on a trail in Tucson and told them that when they hiked through Oregon on the PCT, to let me know and I’d provide trail magic. That was several years ago and remained in contact ever since. They helped with valuable info for our trip to Slovenia and continue to prompt us as seniors to keep moving !

This was an absolutely wonderful conversation. I watch a lot of podcasts and I dislike it when the host clearly hasnt engaged or even read a book and they're discussing. Glen's insights were fantastic and so was your ability to let him continue talking without interrupting. I genuinely hope your channel continues to grow, you really deserve a lot of success.

A very interesting talk and relatable as an Indian. As a developing country that aims for a ‘developed nation’ status by 2047, the reality of villages and rural areas here is fast changing making most villagers want to turn towards urbanised living not having experienced it’s downsides yet. There’s a lot of truth in these words, someone who has slowed down and made a conscious choice to walk instead of speeding past a place would know much more of the little nuances of it and its people. India is so huge, and literally each person’s story is extremely unique, but overall as urbanisation and concretisation is taking over and as modernisation is being equalised to westernisation, villages here are bearing the effects of that faulty definition of development.
@10Adventures6 ай бұрын
It was such a great podcast and Ashutosh really highlighted some interesting perspectives of modernization that many people wouldn't normally think of. I agree in that the walking journey allowed him to absorb more insights that we are grateful to have had the pleasure of listening to during our talk.
