Heat does make the scratches less visible but the best way of getting rid of the scratches is to copy it's texture pattern with a PDR tab, hot glue gun and a bit of heat then dab it.

This method certainly does add a little shine to the plastic. But that’s not really a bad thing. It improves the look so much, the shine is not offensive. And you can always buy a flat armor all to rub on the door bring it to a more natural flat look. Bottom line, nothing removes scratches better than heat. Thank you so much.

That's not dirt, it's pigment and word of warning people doing this, go easy, or you'll permanently damage the seat. The other bit, condition the seat right after.

Works a treat on the wife’s arse and front apron. So pleased I’ve stared reading books again before lights out. 👍🏻

Never start heating directly at the creases. Be sure to start away from it and work your way into and around it. That's the reason your creases are still visible. 9 years experience heating leather airplane seat covers.

question is how long will this last.. before the tightening wears off.. due to repeatitive seating

Damp leather will stretch and sag. Also shrinks easily with some humidity and heat A hairdryer is hot enough, just don't heat too much in one spot.

I just used a heat gun in combination with rubbing in leather conditioning oil so it didn't dry out on my 40 year old leather seats to get out wrinkles & it worked! I'd say it reduced the wrinkles by about 70%! :)

I have a somewhat compromised bolster on the driver seat. Thinking I'll try this. I saw people really bringing the foam back with steamers but I didn't wanna tear the seat apart to get directly to the bolster foam an reshape it

If you do this every couple months would it prevent from getting the wrinkles? Or does using the leather cleaning and conditioner help prevent this?

My plastic clips were super stubborn but I found a trick. Loop a zip tie through the little slot on the clip, and then pull on the loop. Should pop right out.

If you have nice leather its best to keep a small vac and bottle of leather cleaner and conditioner so the leather doesn't crack . If you want to take it a step further you can ceramic coat the interior so it be protected longer and easy to clean

People always say the leather is sagging.... that is so far from reality. It's actually the cheap foam compressed under it... the "cheap foam" expands from the heat and takes the shape closer to the original stitching of the leather. Leather doesn't shrink or expand in cold or heat like synthetic materials, and will last forever in a controlled environment. That is why real leather is expensive. Just for fun sometime you have some Styrofoam packaging, pound a big dent in it without cracking it. Hit it with that heat gun... Abracadabra... looks good as new. But don't be fooled. It loses its integrity and the first time someone sits on it... call it memory foam.. it compresses as before immediately. Great if you're selling a couch... tell them they can't sit on it until they get it home.
