What a brilliant selection of Op shop finds. All those doillies! One of my local charity shops (Op shop to you) sells doillies at £2-£4.00 each! Reckon they class them as vintage antiques! The one you have with the lace at one end (that goes over a chair), I think was called an Antimacassar back in the day. You did well to find all that you did, Valita. Thanks for sharing.❤

Hi, I tend to hoard old lace and crochet pieces with the excuse that I'm going to make something with them and love them so much that I rarely do, but these little trees have got me inspired! One thing about using glue: If you don't want the raw edges to show, try flipping the tree inside out before gluing the bottom edges together. Going to gather my lace pieces today and have some fun--Thanks! <3

I have stored squares that were made over 60 years ago. I keep saying I will sew them together but FINALLY they will be used in an even better way - on my Christmas Tree or in a banner over the doorway. Others can enjoy the work of the long ago women that made them and I can decorate with what I already have. Thank you for a really great idea.

If you have granddaughters, maybe framing them to add you to their home long after you have gone ahead. I would have loved that.

@@sandraimboden6660 That sounds great. I inherited most of my oil doilies from my Mom and one was a scene of 2 birds looking at each other - I think it was 'tatted' and most special. I did frame it and it has hung over my bed for many years where I have loved seeing it for so long. Your idea is so perfect!
