It amazes me how amazing God works because this is something I need to hear right now. I’m standing here beating myself up for a million different things, why did it take me so long to pull my son out of the special needs school the district sent him to that was traumatizing him, not giving him the therapies he was supposed to be getting. Yeah, they hid it, but it’s my job to know everything that happened around him because he can’t tell me himself. It gets so hard because I don’t have people to lean on, I’m terrified every day that I’ll get a fever, because I’m on IV nutrition I have to be hospitalized for a fever because it is a marker for sepsis from my Hickman catheter (and IV that goes into your heart). My family won’t come, I was in the ICU maybe an hour away from being put on a ventilator because the sepsis was not responding because I had 3 separate bacteria and yeast raging in my blood, for most that’s a death sentence. By the Grace of God I’m here today. But, my family doesn’t help. I spend so much time thinking how I let my son down, and it’s been the hardest thing for me to get a handle on. I’m 15.5 years into my recovery from anorexia and self harm, but I’m very cruel to myself emotionally. I’ve been spending a lot of time praying and journaling about it. We are hardest on ourselves

If we truly call ourselves followers of Christ (aka Christians), our mandate is to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every living creature. I understand fun, but we need to take seriously every opportunity to tell people about Jesus becoming Man in order to pay the price for every sin ever committed. I don't understand why Christian groups write or sing songs like this while forgoing the chance to point people to Jesus.

For fun. This shows non-believers that we aren't stuffy/uptight people like some of them think we are. Showing some humor shows them we are capable of laughing. Humor helps us connect with non-believers in a way that talking can't. It's okay to laugh & have fun. God created humor & laughter & He can use it for His glory.
