Over the last week I have seen what I think must be crag martins over our village (mid Bulgaria - wooded hills); I assume they are stopping off while on their autumn migration. Their flight is a bit slower than house martins, with whom they mix (they all follow the flies), and they sometimes seem to soar in thermals like cranes. Their sound is like a lower voiced version of the house martins, and sounds a bit like bottles being clinked together. Thanks for this video.

@@grasshopperwildingmalaga3516 The crag martins - and the other martins and swallows - have all departed now; suddenly the air seems full of flies ...

Many years ago one of our cats (who we nicknamed Charles Darwin because he brought home a goodly selection of species) came home with an oscillated lizard. It was about 30cm in length but thankfully intact. Our cat deposited the lizard and left the scene so I was able to capture it and release it back into the wild. At the time I didn't know what it was so took a photo and went onto an online forum for help and someone identified it for me. I then read that oscillated lizards are popular prey for short-toed eagles. Our cats are all gone now which is good for the lizards & other species!

I love cats, and will probably always have a neutered rescue cat but they are terribly hard on the bird population. I suspect that the more neutereds and the few breeding cats. Love naming the cat Darwin!

No better way to celebrate reaching the summit than a bottle of Lobban Bentomiz edición limitada. Good to see you and your friends enjoyed it, Grasshopper.

Hello Grasshopper. Why did you put "over exploitation?" on the shot of the water tanks?
@grasshopperwildingmalaga35164 жыл бұрын
I worry because they are extracting more ground water. They are often for watering thirsty plants - mangoes and avocadoes, which grow well and sell well, while drought adapted crops like olive and grape have low sale value. I understand the economic pressure on the farmers but long term it doesn't make sense.

Love those summer birds - they nest under my neighbour's balcony. Fabulous little vid.
