I have tested and updated the kit for the 2024 SS, but have not gotten my hands on a 2024 clutch pedal car yet, but the updates needed for that will be fairly minimal.

@@JohnReedRacingI just purchased a 2024 3 pedal & I’m used to driving sequential race cars where clutch is only needed on first gear then no need for the rest of upshifts & downshifts as long as I rev match does this kit allow me to do that or do I need a rekluse clutch as I’m not sold on the rekluse yet thanks again for your help I’m very intrigued by this pnp kit 🙏
@JohnReedRacing3 ай бұрын
@@carbonelement77 My MoTeC kit does allow all of that, but it also requires adding/changing some components on the YXZ. You have to add a load cell to the shifter rod, and convert to drive by wire throttle. The conversion I have on mine, shown in the video above, has gotten a lot more expensive to do now due to the cost of the Yamaha parts involved compared to when I did it.
@carbonelement773 ай бұрын
@@JohnReedRacing what price point do you think it’s at now ? Also is the drive by wire trust worthy & reliable along with the load cell ? I just struggle to find someone who will help me install that unless it’s a PNP kit. Thanks again

I am now running the 86/brz License package on the M1 ECU right now and will it support that package too? If I go with the link keypad (the one with 8 circle-shaped buttons and lights), is it possible to get them into my M1?
@JohnReedRacing11 ай бұрын
The 86/BRZ firmware does support the keypad, though the integration has changed/improved since I did this video, so same concept but a bit different setup flow. I don't know about the Link keypad, but for it to work with the M1, it would need to output data in the same format as the MoTeC keypad.

This is a great walkthrough and applicable to standard keypad function in GPA/GPR now as well. How do you handle showing these status changes on a dash? If you assign a function directly to a Driver Keypad Button how do we pick these up in the CAN template on the dash side?
@JohnReedRacing Жыл бұрын
Thanks! This video is quite old now, and the integration is no longer the same, but the basics still apply. My firmware have channels in the CAN transmit to make the status changes in the dash easy, but last I checked GPA/GPR does not. You would have to grab the button press messages off of the CAN, and create the states in the dash that you need.

John, I bought an Eaton E31 CAN keypad a while ago. I have an M150 with GPRP package on my Radical SR8. Is integrating Eaton keypad in the realm of possibility?
@JohnReedRacing4 жыл бұрын
It is possible, but wouldn't be cheap. You would have to get a development license and then have the Eaton keypad integration added to the GPR-P package custom for you. Most of the cost would be in the development license itself. It would be cheaper to just get the MoTeC keypad to be honest.

Imagine yourself sitting behind the wheel of this magnificent Stallion and you're hearing low rumbling sounds, the engine, it is alive. With a quick tap of the pedal, there's instantly a great roar. It's letting you know you're not in grandma's car anymore. You gently press the pedal, you know it's alive. A cold chill runs up your spine. The next thing you know you're going down the highway shifting through the gears the acceleration is tremendous, it's almost more than you can handle. it has you pinned to the seat so hard you can barely breathe, you see a blur going by you, but you don't worry, you think it's fence posts, but it's really milemarkers they are flying by you. You've now reached Mach speed. The rumbling sounds of the engine that's right behind you along with the roars of the exausts are only sweet music to your ears. You never want to stop, you want to just keep driving this beautiful car, letting it take you faster and faster and further than ever before, with the pedal to the floor you're at Mach speed, with an engine that's Powered by Ford, Driving the Mach 40.In a cold sweat with tears running down your face, you are awoken to realize that it was only a dream. But what a dream, what a dream it was. Then as you wipe the tears from your face, you only wish it had been real.

Not at all. BTW I love how help control costs are street tires yet there is a $40-50k transmission in the car :)
@JohnReedRacing7 жыл бұрын
Well the thought process is to try and reduce the spiraling operational costs, of big teams coming in and just throwing thousands of dollars in tires at the problem every weekend - super specialized and tires the average club level racer cannot even get. The top spec of car will always be a bit expensive to build, but they need to be a certain level/quality to stimulate interest both from racers and spectators. Just a balance, like anything. Cut the costs in areas that do not impact the show or the drivers enjoying proper race cars.
