I do have trouble with exposure on videos. I use four different cameras, I have no problem with my Sony FDR AX53 as I can set the lens ring to control the exposure so I can see what's happening visually. On my DJI Mavic Air I haven't a clue how to even work out the exposure, you're just told to use ND filters which is fine but how do you calculate the exposure in the first place? The next is a newly acquired GoPro Hero 9 (which I will use on a pole with a Inkee Falcon Plus), again, how do you work out exposure? Finally my Motorola G100 phone - but control is limited and not an issue. I believe part of the problem is that I learnt about photography in th 1980s using film SLR cameras so I had through the lens spot metering (Olympus OM2 Spot Program), so ASA, shutter speeds and aperture - no problem, but digital all I here is "use the histogram", How? Why? what does it show you? Anyway, this is why I end up using automatic exposure even though it goes against the grain.
@4T-Tech2 күн бұрын
Hi there, thanks for this comment really interesting. I think it's hard to get the right exposure for action cameras and drones as they don't have any decent meters like DSLRS etc so it is a bit guesswork to be honest. Also these action cameras don't have histograms or anything like that as they are more designed to just hit record and don't worry too much about exposure when hanging out of a plane on a parachute. Auto exposure is fine for walking videos I think as I'd rather look around where I'm walking than worry too much about the exposure other than glancing down occasionally and correcting if it's too light or dark. That's a great idea for a video on the histogram and metering with digital camera.. so I'll see if I can come up with something on the topic

@4T-Tech2 күн бұрын
Hi - on my GoPro 11 I also don't have a mod option when the media mod is connected as I think it's just recognised. The wireless mic should just connect via the 3.5mm connector on the media mod. Or the DJI Mic 2 can connect via bluetooth to the GP13 (or should do)

Seems to be a great powerbank. I do use the uGreen 130W 20000mAh, which is more bulky and heavier, but can charge my small laptop, phone, and provide energy during video mounting. Also, now, to recharge my Insta360 Go 3S, I carry with me a small Anker Nano 22,5W which brings me enough power on the field, and extremely lightweight. Thanks for the video.

Thanks very much! This is helpful. I'm using a Go PRo 10 which is much larger but I use the second way keeping it lower when I record walking videos. It's still visible and occassionaly people will glance at it or say something. I think I need to invest in a DJI Pocket camera.
@4T-Tech7 күн бұрын
Hi - other than the Insta360 Go3S which is tiny, the Pocket 2 is the probably the best discrete camera for walking around without bringing attention as it doesn't "look" like a camera. They are available on the 2nd hand market so maybe the time to pick one up maybe? Thanks for watching!

Hi there, on your recommendation I bought and configured the 8BitDo micro controller for the Hover X1 on my android phone, it works a treat, many thanks. Is it possible to configure the controller to use with the DJI Neo? I find a tactile controller easier to use than the phone screen. I realise the RC-N3 controller can be used, but for holidays, minimal gear is preferred.
@4T-Tech9 күн бұрын
Hi Mike, glad it works for you! It would be amazing if it worked with the Neo as I would love this too. I have the N3 controller but I agree having a little controller would be so nice to control the Neo. At the moment in my tests it doesn't work unfortunately. Maybe we can hope DJI would release a firmware.

Hi - I did get this working with the 8BitDo controller on Android, but setting up the mappings as per the MODE 2 configuration resulted in some unexpected behavior .. LEFT "STICK": up arrow -> drone moves up as expected down arrow -> drone moves down as expected left arrow -> drone ROTATES to right (drone's right) - expected to MOVE to its left right arrow -> drone ROTATES to left (drone's left) - expected to MOVE to its right RIGHT "STICK": X-button -> drone doves backward (drone's back) - expected to move forward B-button -> drone moves forward (drone's forward) - expected to move backward Y-button -> drone MOVES to its right - expected to ROTATE to its left A-button -> drone MOVES to its left - expected to ROTATE to its right So, to get it working as expected, I changed the mappings to: LEFT "STICK": up arrow -> I (already correct) down arrow -> G (already correct) left arrow -> C (was J) right arrow -> D (was H) RIGHT "STICK": X-button -> F (was E) B-button -> E (was F) Y-button -> H (was D) A-button -> J (was C)

@JimMadsenGP14 күн бұрын
I could not get the Crane Shot via rotation to work as well as yours. My phone kept flipping around 180º. I realized it's crucial to hold the gimbal in your RIGHT hand so the OPEN END of the gimbal FACES DOWN-that way the gimbal arm doesn't pass in front of the lens, causing your phone to flip around like mine was. Otherwise, great move.

Thank you. It helps for a while then the issue back again. Sent to support, they didn't help anything, just find an excuse then send the broken camera back. Thanks GoTrash for telling me that "I could never ever trust GoTrash anymore in my whole life". I'm aiming for DJI Pocket.

@neilbreakwell450016 күн бұрын
Yes, as someone mentioned below I think the phone-to-Hover communication is wi-fi for manual control, although it also has a bluetooth link for configuration. The 8BitDo-to-phone link is bluetooth, so problem #1 resulted from the phone being too far from the 8BitDo controller, not because the phone was too far from the HoverAir. Thanks for your videos on this product - they have been really helpful.
