In the mid 90's, I heard a song by a rap group know as the Forest Dwellers. As I listened to "Leaves are changing colors", the chorus repeated a sample that starts from 4:50. It wasn't until 2023 that I actually heard this original song..... damn 🤣🤣🤣

this is the sound of the late 70s. Best representation. The creator indeed seemed to have a masterplan in those days xD

I recently found this at my local record store, the whole album is amazing! The song Sleep Walker is just a fraction of the greatness of this album.

I remember growing up hearing this in the Woodhill Homes Projects in Cleveland Ohio. I would play it so much until I knew and imitated all of the band members. ❤ this

Good stuff. Somewhere between Tubby Hayes "Down in the Village" and Latin Jazz Quintet "Rip-A-Dip". I remember dead stock turning up in quantity in 1993.

Growing up in apartheid South Africa where lots of music was banned for various reasons it was always pleasing to listen to these Crusaders albums which would take us places we thought we'd never know. These melodies are still just as soothing as they were during the hardest of times. Thanks Jazz Crusaders.

The Wayne Henderson trombone solo on this track is just phenomenal. I first heard this in 1991 when a local record shop was switching over to CD's they moved all their vinyl to the basement and had them all marked way down. Picked up a lot of good records in that basement for $2 to $5 each and Southern Comfort was one of them.

Gracias a KZbin conozco a este gran músico. Ya tengo otro ídolo de la flauta de jazz, junto a Eric Dolphy y James Moody. Un saludo desde España.
