Thank you! Wonderful to hear Keith’s beautiful song..

Magnificent, just magnificent - when reduced to a solo piano score, it sounds like some long-lost work by Maurice Ravel. Guitar lines, backing vocals, and counter melodies worked in masterfully, and never sound clumsily conceived or forced. Performance flawless also. Excellent!

A very good example of the quirks of this band. Greg Lake wrote hte simple tune along with his usual ridiculous lyrics ("Letters of our memories are not real", "Wounded words of laughter are graveyards of the past", and other senseless drivel) and the whole thing is totally saved by a wonderful interpretation by Emerson, drawing phrases from his older work and classical pieces. The result is wonderful, and here, without those stupid lyrics, even better.
@MassimoBucciMusicista14 күн бұрын
@Toobula Thank You ! Personally, I never pay attention to the lyrics of the music I listen to, but only to the sound of the voice. This is why I prefer music with lyrics in a language I don't understand or don't immediately understand. I don't know what Greg Lake says when he sings, although, back in the Tarkus days, I was a little curious about what he said. Then, somewhere, I read what you wrote in your post, so my curiosity waned. The voice in music can be used like any other instrument, there is no need for words which, on the contrary, with their meaning, risk limiting it, especially if they are added after the musical composition itself. The more the voice goes in the direction of pure sound, and not of the text, the more I appreciate it (in fact in the 80s, it was a great joy for me to discover singers like Al Jarreau or The Manhattan Transfer).

An adorable interpretation of this outstanding piece… until it reached the part of Steve‘s guitar solo (because only Steve plays it right). For my taste, you ruined this sensible piece with your left hand which totally dominated the right hand’s guitar part. Anyway, this is surely the best FoF piano rendition I’ve ever heard - congratulations!

@@solderboy1627 magari rimarrai della tua idea, ma c’è una versione del 2022 molto diversa da questa.
@MassimoBucciMusicista27 күн бұрын
@solderboy1627 In my latest arrangement the part that begins here at 5:56 has a different writing and a different balance between right and left hand. Here, especially from about 5:56 to 6:50, the right is actually a bit submerged by the left, in the new arrangement, certainly occurs to a lesser extent.
