Interesting analysis. It would be nice to get an update from Nintendo as to when we might see the new system and game, especially since it’s one of their most successful franchises. Thanks for sharing.

That was an interesting comparison with Sims. Whereas in Sims you largely can create your own narrative, Animal Crossing presents a ready-make cast and randomly assigns some of them for you to interact with. This means each player will naturally have a unique yet somewhat curated experience, leading to fun emergent narratives and unique relationships between players and the villagers. Always fun hearing when players have a villager they absolutely adore and spoil, whereas others may have villagers they just despise. Like you pointed out, the fact that the player has so little freedom goes a long way in making the world feel more immersive. Nice analysis!
