Tachometer und Drehzahlmesser funktionieren nicht. Türkontrolleuchte leuchtet auch.😢

Looks good. Only two things you may have wanted to do differently. Unless you clear coated the parts you polished, they are going to rust in a short amount of time. Second is that you should use copper paste with stainless fasteners not aluminum.

ah yes, I think some super glue will solve the problem ? otherwise you need a Rivet gun that and re cramp the M5 rivets

I have watched this video maybe 50 times. Even before I actually got the car. Thank you for making it. I dove into the valley of death last night all by myself. Thanks to your video I felt fairly confident and it went great. Keep the videos coming!

Hey Justin, glad to hear it! And good job! It took me several weeks to get under mine, because I wasn't in the garage every day, had to pack up and lock the car each time, bring all tools back and forth and I constantly had to get new tools, mostly to get to the bolts that hold the air intake manifold to the block.

I know its tough filming and working at the same time. Great video thanks for sharing this! #5945

Hi, trying to do this job and I simply cannot reach those last 2 bolts near the steering column. I think I can get ahold of the one closest to the door, but the entire bolt spins instead of just the nut, and I can't even see the other one. Any advice?
@stockholmdelorean56913 жыл бұрын
I would then take the seat out (it's very easy to do, just 4 nuts under the car, you don't even need to raise it) to get some more room. I have never removed the knee bolsters, but perhaps you need to do that too. Fot the one spinning, I would either try ti pry the binnacle upwards (when you get all other nuts off) and jam it with a screwdriver or something) and see if you can get leverage on the nut, or simply cut the nut off. You would then need to have new studs tac welded on once you get the binnacle off. Or just use four or five nuts when you put it back. Protip: replace the nuts with wing nuts when you are done. Good luck!

Vilken spanning! Vilket drama!! Hur manga Deloreans kanner du till i Stockholm (eller i Sverige for den delen)?
@stockholmdelorean56913 жыл бұрын
Hej Henrik.

Nice binnacle !! it is a fiddly job to get that out. I took my seat out, and the knee roll and took my steering wheel off too - it makes it much easier to access underneath and as I was also installing a speedbox made sense ... adds about 30 mins to the process , but boy does it save your back. Nice video.

I've been there! Not fun! Luckily I was with other owners at the time so I tried one of their keys and it worked! I have the two key delorean and apparently the doors only had 50 combinations. I hit luck on the first try with a little jiggle of the key.

Wasn’t there a trick where you hit behind rear wheel well near the door. Do it a certain way and lift the door open. Kind of like how in the old days if you hit the top of a newspaper stand and pull the door you can unlatch the door.

Thx. There is an "inertia switch" in the driver side footwell, which is supposed to open the doors and cut of the fuel pump in case of impact. Mine is however by-passed. And also, it only works if the battery is connected, and mine is not at the moment.

Very nice video. Thanks for posting. I would assume swapping in LED housings and bulbs would reduce heat. I wonder if the aluminum support would be necessary even with LED bulbs.

Wyclef28: Good question. I’m about to install new housings and led bulbs myself. I’m having the upgraded fiberglass fascia painted and installed. Feel free to message me on Facebook. Matt Carpenter 5144

I assume if you would install LEDs into a non-warped fascia, it would not at all be as affected by the heat. However, if you fixa an already warped fascia and change to LED at the same time, I would recommend reinforcing, since it seems very easy for the fascia to "warp" back from heat (I noted this when I was doing several passes with the heatgun), perhaps even in very warm sunlight.

Stockholm Delorean I see. Well it looks significantly better in the video. Would you mind sharing what you sprayed the fascia with about half way into the video? (Just prior to installing the reinforcements.) Thanks!!?

I really appreciate you sharing this video, Anders. I’m debating having mine fixed or replaced by the fiberglass version, which I have already. Cheers - Matt #5144
