Well interpreted ! But I was asking myself if this sonata sounds not better with a sopran recorder ?

I played recorder fairly decently for over 50 years and have found few sonatas that sound best on a recorder. Sorry I didn't take up another instrument.

Do you know the piece at all? The tempo change is explicitly written only by 0:42. After that it follows the pattern of alternated slow and faster-paced sections.

Little is known about he life of composer and chamber musician Dario Castello (b. ar. 1590 - d. before 1658), a minor though significant figure on the musical scene of the 17th century. His recorded musical activity seems to have been centered in Venice. Some biographical references to Dario Castello appear in the title pages and dedications of the composer’s two volumes of ‘Sonate concertate’, published in Venice in 1621 and 1629 respectively. Several editions of Castello’s popular yet technically demanding and musically adventurous sonata anthologies were made, with Book I reprinted in Venice and Antwerp as late as 1658. Two editions of Book I describe the composer as ‘Capo di Compagnia de Musichi d’Instrumenti da fiato in Venetia’, leader of a Venetian company of 'piffari', while the Book II dedications announce that he was also a musician at San Marco. Since Monteverdi was 'maestro di cappella' at San Marco during Castello's period of service, it is not surprising that Castello's music shows the influence of this great Italian master, particularly in the use of the so-called 'stile concitato' or agitated style, with effects such as having rapid repeated notes and extended trills as symbols of bellicose agitation or anger. It also divulged other characteristics typical of the day, notably the deft use of contrasting tempos and other colorful features associated with the 'stile moderno'. His works were typically scored for sackbuts, cornetti, violins, and dulcians.
