Id recommend the Garmin echomap 93sv paired with the lvs34. I have links to both products in the video description. The lvs34 is on sale for $1500 and echomap 93sv can be picked up for around $1k.

I like Thill Bobbers/Slip Bobbers. The spring loaded bobbers wreck havoc on my lines. Why kill fish when they are spawning? This technique depletes the population of fish. It is best to release. For every female you catch/keep you Kill Thousands. Shame Shame.

@@jolizefrank5060 Garmin offers a mapping update you can purchase for Jamaica and the Caribbean area. You would have to purchase this separately from the echomap and then install it using the active captain app on your phone. Don't have any gear recommendations as I'm pretty new to ice fishing. Looking forward to the ice camping videos. I've been looking at Norfin gear, their sizing seems off to me, do they run big on the boots and float suits?
@FloppingCrappie
@FloppingCrappie 5 күн бұрын
@squirrellydan1277 the boots seem to run true to size. I wear 13, with medium/heavy socks. The float suits might be a little tight. I'm 6'1" 215lbs and I wear the XL. The bibs are a snug but not bad.

I have a 93 sv on the dash of my bass boat and a 73 cv on the bow. I use the side view on the 93 to locate structure then pinpoint it with a split screen of traditional sonar and down view on the front 73. They are both fantastic units especially for the price.

Why the plastic bobber stop up top. That will interfere with your ability to change your depth won’t it

I like the northland lite bite bobbers better than the 3 in 1. They work better for slip bobber fishing. I havent tried a jig and bobber setup. Normally just cast over the brush pile and slow roll it back over. The bobber would help keep it over the brush longer. I’ll give it try.

Wow. Thanks for ten video. I had the same issue. I end up doing the job my self. I have a tight dash due to wiring. Also I need to hoist my mercury to pull to the side and remove the old rods and slide the new ones. I must of unplug a wire in my dash during the process of sliding the new cables inn. Those rods are long and need clearance to make turns. My alarm won’t beeb and engine cranks but doesn’t start when I turn the key switch. I haven’t done the engine steering rod yet. I’m thinking those steering rods have to be installed for better grounding. Idk. I’ll keep you posted.

Love the vid. Most of my crappie fishing is with a jig head and 2" plastic. I also use the 3-in-1 bobbers; I really like using that lower slot for the slip bobber action. It can be sensitive to what you use for the bobber stop. If it's a little small, the stop can get wedged in that slot. But otherwise, I find it really convenient to be able to swap between a fixed setup and slip bobber setup very quickly. Also easy to quit using the bobber altogether without having to cut and retie the jig.
