Absolutely wonderful! I do definitely get what you mean about editing grinding footage, or just footage in general. I love the creative jumpcuts, you're really doing amazing. Hope to see the channel grow and you able to work more on what you enjoy. Glad to see you keeping with the bladesmithing also! Copy Paste description phrase.

Greatly appreciated the grinding footage. However the filler for the phrase in the description you could have been more thoughtful. PS. Deeply disappointed that you didn't try to cut grass with it yet. Opportunities missed

Stainless is pretty strong, yet carbon is good, but not around salt water.

I appreciate that you actually used some footwork in this video, so often people just static cut but you appeared to keep a good base while moving between cuts
@TheElvenArcherАй бұрын
@jamesR1990 wouldn't say I have good footwork but I've gotten knocked down enough in martial arts to know to keep a stable stance lol.

It’s a Scandi grind. Why dit you make a extra griend on it ? Why didn’t you work with the existing grinding ?

Because I was 17 and didn't know shit about different grinds.

Usually, as I understood, this construction of bows (where you have limbs made as: fiberglass layers - wood core - fiberglass layers) are called laminated bows. Fiberglass bows are different, your working portions of limbs is made just out of thick fiberglass panel and for visual reasons those limbs use to be cowered by leather.
@TheElvenArcherАй бұрын
@msk5643 that is true but these laminate bows are commonly just called fiberglass bows since actual solid fiberglass bows are pretty uncommon outside of kids bows.

This is close to what i need. Strangers move my trash cans to a tall blockwall fence next to my house. Then, they climb on the trash cans to more easily get over the blockwall fence. But my neighbor's pitbull barks at anything that makes some noise, so something like noise making trip wire will likely trigger even more noise from the dog. This will alert the dog, and then me and the neighbors, which might discourage further issues. Thanks for sharing this great idea.

Awesome build man! You should’ve shown how you made the sheaths too. They were awesome. Also my favorite finish after quenching is a wire wheel finish. Give it a try sometime if you like. I hope that helps

I made arrows from DOWLS bought not one broke look for grain structure there no run offs weight the spine so all are same spine then you good to go. Even home made arrows can break if grain is not strait.

2:27 why is poplar so suitable for arrows? Are there other types of trees that makes for good arrows? Willow, Ash, beech?
@TheElvenArcher5 ай бұрын
You can make arrows from any wood that has straight grain and a bit of spring to it. Ash for sure, though it's a bit heavier. Willow and poplar are both in the salicaceae family so most species are pretty similar in terms of their wood properties.

Carpet dulls even the best of knives, bad test before cutting wood.
@TheElvenArcher5 ай бұрын
It's got nothing to do with what knife does to the wood it's about what the wood does to the knife. Both blades cut through the same amount of material and one held a better edge.
