I have just started having a go on Iracing and Bathurst. have watched the great race for 30 years now. Me and a mate used to do 160 laps on the PS2 V8 Supercars 3. with an old Logitech wheel and pedals, at the same time as the race was on, would do 20 laps each, then pit, the last 40 laps were interesting as we were fair pissed by then, ha ha. My best time on this is a 2:10. and that's with plenty of crashes, these cars are an absolute handful! I'm not sure how you get 2:07s... ha ha ha.
@CowyYourAverageSimRacerАй бұрын
@@kahoonsimracing it takes time & practice, I was at the same level as u when I first started on iRacing myself. Good luck finding your pace!
@kahoonsimracingАй бұрын
@CowyYourAverageSimRacer Cheers ! yeah after watching you I can see where I'm losing time. Mainly in the braking zones. I get alot of rear brake chatter doing heel toe down change and braking heavy , than i lose speed on exit like you say . I need to push track boundaries abit more too. I see you use alot of track. Especially over the top.
@CowyYourAverageSimRacerАй бұрын
@@kahoonsimracing yea this car is all about getting the power down on exit, smoothly and as quickly as possible. Using all the track u can is a must if u want to find more speed, but it’s also about lining up the next corner and positioning the car so u can open out the corner as much as possible. The idea is to look as far ahead as u can - when approaching a corner u should be looking at the apex, not your brake marker - that’s in your peripheral vision. Then as u are headed for the apex u look forward to the exit out of the corner, so u can carry as much speed as possible. When u start doing all that properly u will find the line & speed for each corner. F1 drivers are looking so far ahead it seems silly, but that’s how they pick the fastest line every time…

Gidday mate I wanna get into a rig set up but I'm still learning, yours is amazing but where did you start? and any advice?
@CowyYourAverageSimRacerАй бұрын
I started with a home made metal rig, 1 screen & a Logitech g27 wheel & pedals. Best advice I can give is to try sim racing out with a cheap ish 2nd hand setup, and if u fall in love then look to upgrade. Load cell pedals become a must have, they are where u will find the most time on track. I went for a profile rig next when I upgraded, but bought my direct drive wheelbase around the same time so I was thinking about thr rigidity of my rig before I got the wheelbase. Pedals, rig, wheelbase is the order I went with & worked for me :-)

@@WreckageMG nah left foot brake - when I first set up my old pedals the clutch wasn’t working so had to change to left foot braking, and I’m left handed so when I tried to go back to heel & toe my braking wasn’t as good. So not in these cars, but any h-pattern car I drive I heel & toe for them.
