Sunpower Maxeon Thin Filmed Gen 3 solar cells that we use, these are more expensive to manufacture, the only other comparsion is Powerfilm however they are double the price of ours and 4 x the physical footprint. We chose to manufacture what we would want to use ourselves not Monochrystaline like most other companies, being durability/portability/ruggedness & efficiency matter most to us and our customers. Lastly we do offer the lesser expensive Monocrystaline panels on our website as well, however they are not under 10lbs and 220W, that work in low light conditions and can fit in a bike storage bag. Any other questions feel free to contact us directly [email protected] (403)461-7173

I know absolutely NOTHING about solar or electricity. I want to convert an enclosed trailer to a camper. I want to be able to stay out for a month at a time. I understand there are many variables. However, would this work for lights, occasional microwave, small TV and small fridge? If so, how many panels would I need …given the voltage limitations? It seems to me this would be less complicated to employ …rather than wiring up the trailer. Advice? I also notice Anker has a 3800.

If I had a good BOV I'd be getting something large like these, but what do I carry without a vehicle? If I'm on foot or using a e-bike, I want backpack-portable solar tech. What do you recommend for that? (I'm already settled on a solar blanket; I'm talking about the power station.) Have you already made video about this? Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback, Our Solar Blankets are designed similar to Powerfilm, however 1/2 the price and 4 times smaller in footprint. The good thing is that you have options, I chose this ebike model being it can get me to places like in the video, I can also carry one of our Solar Blankets to charge and extend my range and adventures. There are lesser expensive solar panels and ebikes that cannot go to these places and those solar panels are not portable or as efficient in bright or low light condtions. There are options for everyone, Ecells, offers great quality ebikes, many models in different price ranges, worth checking out

The belt driven generators from my gas wells run off of pump motors built in the 1930s. They've been running over 92 years without a software or firmware update, but the belts do need to be replaced at around 45000 hrs.
@offgridtrek
@offgridtrek Ай бұрын
@wisenber that is pretty good wear and tear, just over 5yrs to replace of run constantly
@wisenber
@wisenber Ай бұрын
@@offgridtrek It's a pair of old 7 hp Fairbanks-Morse hit and miss engines. The driveshaft runs the gas well pump, and the motor runs on natural gas. A belt is connected to the driveshaft which runs the generator (or anything else you want to belt drive). Both generators produce 1500-2500W each. If I need more power, I have a modern natural gas generator that runs from the well gas. None of it is very portable, but the survey suggests I have over 100 years of gas left before I'd have to try horizontal drilling.

well since solar panels are flexible, you could put some loops on them and run a flexible plastics pipe through it. Couple more pipes coming up from bike front and back and you got yourself solar umbrella. Charge as you go, protection from sun, stay cooler and light enough not to be noticeable.
@offgridtrek

Our Solar Blankets do have reinforced grommets along each length, so it would not be difficult to do this if you wanted. However with how quick they charge you could stop for an hr to eat or relax and top up the batteries quickly

You always have the option to purchase a 220W Powerfilm Solar Blanket if you want the same results in low light conditions. However they are 14lbs, do not pack up as small, double the price and 4 times the physical footprint when deployed. Or you can go with a standard monochrystaline panel that everyone else makes however they are bulkier, heavier and do not work as well or at all in low light conditions. The good thing is that you have options based on your needs and budget.
