great, it works in the controller you can see the name of crs326 as "pe1" how and where to change it to know which one is which in case of several switches? if you had 4 devices you could name them "floor_1", "floor_2", etc.. please reply Regards Daniel

For the CRS part starting at minute 8:00 and filling in the /bridge port values, this is the time to enter in frame types admit priority and untagged and also to check ingress filtering.

Hi, great material; can crs326 have vlan99 introduced with mgmt addressing? isn't this done and we treat crs326 as L2 without mgmt? Regards Daniel
@TheNetworkTripАй бұрын
Hello! The PEs are managed by the CB. If you need a separate management interface (out of band), you would need an interface in excluded-ports. The idea of having a controller is that we configure everything on the CB device.

Your tutorials are exceptional Wilmer! Spent the day trying to follow your video on installing and running Mikrotik RouterOS on VMWare Player. I hit a snag which I've spent the last 7 hours trying to resolve, with no luck. I'm at the point of chucking it all and giving up :( The issue is as follows: I downloaded the CHR image chr-6.49.15.img during your steps on downloading the raw file. Gave it a name like you did, and went back to the project. When I emulated what you did in adding the 3 routers of the new router node to the project, I get the following Pop-Up: Hardware acceleration can only be used with the following Qemu executables: qemu-system-x86_64, qemu-system-i386, qemu-kvm. The routers refuse to start. I've tried 2 different laptops, one with Win 11 Pro and 8 gigs of RAM, and this current unit with Win10, i7 and 32 gigs of memory. I'm at my wits end. Please help!!!

Hello, your videos are very good. I would like to ask how you could add a Unifi AP, which requires several VLANs with their corresponding SSIDs and each VLAN with its IP range to one side of the switch.

Is this seamless failover? If the primary WAN fails, will it still continue pinging when transitioning to Backup WAN?

I have a question, in a scenario where you have multiple CRS310's and at the end of it a client device, assigning a /30 address on a vlan on the bridge in the last CRS310, tagging the vlan on the bridge and on the interface connected to a client mikrotik, and assigning a /31 IP address on the vlan and another on the customer mikrotik seems to break offload. Im getting 20% cpu on 65mbps. :-( am I missing something? ) all routes have the flag H in them.
@mariozablocki5192 ай бұрын
Great video, I followed your instructions with 2x CRS317 and set up MLAG, several VLANs and bonded interfaces. I ran into a problem, MTU greater than 1500 does not work, although I set MTU 9000 and L2MTU 10218 on all interfaces. Do you have any advice, since I have no more ideas?

It looks like ROS v6 works differently about prerouting and firstly checks accessible routes before applying mangle rules. So the PBR rule can work well in ROS v6 without explicitly excluding dest private networks
@jeytis722 ай бұрын
Very clear. I love your way to explain networking. Furthermore, your labs and diagrams are very helpful. Anyway, in a real scenario, data between branches of the same company would go through encrypted tunnel like Wireguard first. I mean, it would be VXLANs over a Wireguard tunnel or alike. Right? Thanks

Thanks for this presentation. As am still learning. But this sounds like Mikrotik version of Cisco switch stacking.

Would be great to have a step by step NAT - using Fasttrack and firewall using Fasttrack guide.. with these, it almost seems inconceivable but, might one completely eliminate CCR's for CRS devices for doing most deployments? BGP?

@@TheNetworkTrip I noticed the introduction of lo interface somewhere in the last couple of releases, it seems any IP configured on this interface is not offloaded. and if that is the IP your traffic hits to go through the router, CPU baby! I by default install a loopback address and advertise it passively as broadcast on ospf.
