it is a form of exploitation when you are not in love with the person and all you wanted is some fun and sex.

Personality over sex. Seems simple but yet still very hard. Everyone loves sex but eventually the body dies out and so our ability to have sex. On the other hand, personalities evolve over time and sometimes the person and the personality we marry evolves. Communication is quintessential to evolve together. This is definitely great advice, one piece to the puzzle

It's frightening to think that a clown like shis exists, this deluded brainwashed fool talking about disordered and he living an unatural life himself having taken a vow never to have any relationship with a woman which is totally against nature. The churches obsession with sex being a sin but the church didn't think it was a din when priests were abusing little boys and did everything to cover this up and if you want real disordered look at Fr Tony Walsh that raped a boy with a crucifix .

Not true, a man should be older in most cases. A single woman is not even a wife material after 30.
@SuperSlavonski

Yeah, tell that to a women. They think they can ignore biological clock and that they have value in their 30's. And they have, as a human beings, but not as someone's potential spouses. Their time for that is over.

Ideally, it would be great for everyone to be spiritually and emotionally mature enough to be ready to make the life commitment of marriage and also find a spouse who is on the same plane all by a young age, but for many people this is not so easy to find, even if they want it. I don't think the priest really understands that, or understands how sensitive a topic a woman's fertility is. The title of the video is Putting Off Marriage and then he goes on to talk about infertile couples. The implied message is: You shouldn't have waited so long. This is one of the most hurtful messages a woman struggling with infertility can hear. He assumes that the infertility is because the couple waited too long to marry, or prioritized career over marriage and children. However, this is out of touch because there is no reason to put off children for career anymore, not with daycares and nannies so abundant. Most people who married too late to have children simply did not meet their spouse until later in life, they usually dated from a young "normal" age but the relationships did not lead to marriage, they had problems that were too big, they had trouble connecting for a variety of reasons, there was abuse, etc. Also some people have medical issues which cause infertility even if they marry young. So instead of telling young people to marry asap so that they don't suffer the same fate as the poor old infertiles, I would suggest the priest really get to know the stories of the infertile couples and get familiar with a Catholic infertility spiritual resource like Springs in the Desert. I totally agree that our society needs to refocus on marriage, and prioritize it as we do school and career by making a serious effort to make the commitment at the beginning of adult life, as we do with college and career. However it is more complex than those things, so for some people it may take longer. Life is not simple. The biological clock is only one facet. I believe it is good to marry young but not only because of that. It is a gift to be able to grow together as a couple from a young age, the spiritual fruit of marriage, and this is the essence of marriage, beyond children. It is good for all couples to remember that.

"Marriage is about having babies"...Yes and no. To an infertile couple this sounds like their marriage is incomplete or less than in some way. It is not. Marriage is about the total giving of oneself to the spouse, and what grows from this is fruitfulness is many ways, not only babies but a spiritual fruitfulness. Of course we should be open to life, but marriage is not only about babies, it is more than that.

"Marriage is about babies"...Yes and no. For couples who are unable to naturally conceive or adopt, messages like this might leave them feeling like their marriage is lacking or incomplete in some way. They may even feel like their marriage is less holy than the marriage of someone who has a lot of children. However, this is not the case. Marriage is the total giving of self to the other, and there is a spiritual fruitfulness which comes out of this even if there is not the physical fruitfulness of a child. Of course, it is important to be open to life and prioritize this in a marriage by not putting off children. However, those who are unable to have children don't have any less of a marriage than those who are.

this priest is accused and prosecuted of sexual abuse against women. His catholic order paid $977,000 to a survivor of his abuse. This is hilarious, that this Harvey Weinstein even has a channel.

Hi. It's best not to feature advices rom Fr. McCloskey Ave Maria and sir Anthony Buono coz' of what he's done. It's best to remove his videos from Ave Maria and this channel, else it may do more harm than good (seek the counsel too of your spiritual director). God bless, Proverbs 31

To have spouse is to have the best friend in the world; so loneliness or isolation is healed. You have somebody you see there around that you care; or somebody you think you get confidence who cares about you. But if you are lonely , anyone there who shows kindness or understanding for you whether she is a stranger or a whore is a temptation to make you feel okay. This is where a lonely priest or person can be endangered; that's why it's better that the young parish priest get married.

There are TWO problems with physical (Sexual) attraction, one is putting an over emphasis on it which is popular among some aspects of secular culture and the other is putting an under emphasis of it which is popular among some aspects of Christian culture. I did the latter thinking it wasn't too important with a partner struggling with obesity due to over eating when everything else was perfect and let me tell you it's just as destructive as those who seek vanity and lust. We are to enter a sexual relationship with our spouse, not because we have to but because we want to, that can only happen when the attraction is there. We change physically in time yes but the marital relationship and behavior between both spouse's below 60 will be quite different with those above 60 due to those changes

The book the "Surrendered Wife" is very controversial. It advocates for the wife to submit to being horrifically abused physically and in other sorts of ways. Read the reviews on Amazon and you can get an idea of some of the dangerous ideas in that book. As he says, it's secular and not based in Church teaching which is why it goes off on some really dangerous tangents. No priest should be recommending that book to anyone. And please show me ONE study where it's "psychologically healthy" for a woman to always be the one to let the husband have his way.

He said 10-15% of the time to let the husband have his way and then it would make the husband rethink his idea about letting the wife have more of a say. I think you need to watch it with a little more understanding before leaving comments.
