There are rumors that under some buildings, particularly an abandoned hospital, there are to this day some of the waters that Katrina brought, pooled in their basements.

Dr. Ivor van Heerden was terminated by Louisiana State University to silence his criticism of government for their many failures in the construction of the flood protection "system" around New Orleans. He said, "If we had the will and one month's money from Iraq, we could do all the levees and restore the coast." The Second Iraq War was ongoing at the time. Dr. van Heerden eventually settled a wrongful termination lawsuit, but he was silenced. While this video is excellent, and its brevity encourages more people to watch it, its brevity prevents the deeper discussion of the stupid engineering and construction decisions that resulted in the levee failures and the subsequent deaths and property loss. A video explaining the use of the wrong design storm, the wrong elevation datum, the wrong factor of safety, the wrong soil investigation and analysis, the wrong decision to use I-walls, the wrong sheetpile depth, the wrong decision to not move the pump stations to the Lakefront, and others is badly needed. Another video is needed to explain how the Corps of Engineers is the Congress' favorite slush fund for sending Federal money into local projects (and, of course, buying votes and re-elections), but that process results in selecting the wrong projects and short-funding of the projects (to ensure more spending can occur next term to ensure another re-election). Explain why, for example, 40 years after Hurricane Betsy, was the "system" still not completed.

And George Bush was on TV just having fun with his war on Iraq who never did anything to the U.S. Then FEMA took one month to show up... and did NOTHING! They were too "scared". People who works at FEMA just waste money on "training" but they never get their hands dirty because their "insurance does not cover". They way for everything to settle and then they go piece by piece and that is it. If you are 9 feet in front of them and under the rubble and screaming, they will not do a thing for you, THEY DO NOT HAVE TO.

I’ve heard some people that lived in the Lower 9th Ward talk about how they heard an explosion by the levees. Even a professional came to see and he said that the way the levee broke it wasn’t caused by water. #gentrification

Lets get it right - FOX station owners are the ones that pulled their feed from Directv even tho a contract was signed in December. We filed a complaint with the FCC against FOX station owners Mission Broadcasting. All directv customers should do the same. Directv has also filed a lawsuit in this matter.

If you build it they will come. Also these are families who spent generations there spanning back to slavery and share cropping. These are historically disenfranchised people who love their home and their culture. The lower wards were sacrificed for the French Quarter. They deserve and deserved better. Other nations know how to build at and below sea level, yet Americans working for the Army Corps of Engineers couldn't figure it out. Blame the incompetence of the local, state and federal governments. Not the people.

I'm a sinister elf, With a sinister plan, Santa's little helper, With too much time on my hands, He's got a fine lookin' wife, For such an old man, I can see her lookin' at me, When there is no one else around. And I'm countin' down the days to December 24th, The old mans in his sleigh, I am sneakin' in the back door, She asks if I know what the candy cane is for, While he's slidin' down the chimney, I'll be comin' back for more. Not really worried 'bout the old man findin' out, 'Cuz me and Rudolph worked the whole thing out, It's not about vengeance or anything like that, I just want a little sex, And the old man off my back. Rudy's out for blood, 'Cuz he hates the fat old man, 'Cuz he caught him in the stables with his fat little hands On a female reindeer he likes named Wynona, And the last thing he wants to see is Santa on her, So we're loadin' up the toy sack with heroin and crack We sent Santa off to Georgia, He ain't comin' back, And we call up an evil green Grinch, To tell him Santa's holdin', And they'll have him on the chain gang, And the electric chair, The electric chair And there'll be a happy ending, All you girls and all you boys There won't be no more Santa, There won't be no more toys There'll be no stoppin' Rudy and Wynona, And I'll be taking off Mrs. Claus' Kimono I'll be taking off Mrs. Claus' Kimono I'll be taking off Mrs. Claus' Kimono I'll be taking off Mrs. Claus' Kimono Merry Christmas
