I love the deck, and big congrats on a fantastic performance at nationals. i always wondered why ShineGreymon: Ruin Mode isn't seeing play in this archtype, since if it has a Suka in its inheritables, you can prevents its own deletion at end of attack, to continually delete an opponents digimons and recover one.

I considered Ruin for that reason, but ultimately you want to keep the MetalEtemon up for its defensive play so evolving over it was a bit meh, and DeathX was more important as a level 7 to play this format to deal with wide boards. But definitely something to tinker with~

My guess is a combination of (1) it's unsearchable as your searcher Digimon end up trashing it & your black-centric options bottomdeck it, (2) it's way too expensive for most people, and (3) if you can afford Ruin Mode, you can afford DeathX, which is just better.

Awesome deck profile! Congrats on your top! I'm also playing the Etemon deck currently. My list is a little different though. Mainly in not running any of the training/mem boosts. Instead I've got 2 ST15 Tai Kamiyas, 2 Analog Youths, and 2 Trident Arms for removal. The Tai really plays well with MetalEtemon's redirection. Gives a 2K boost and draws a card.

Congrats on topping - both the loop deck profiles you've put up have been tight, thanks for sharing. I'd like to see a discussion about the pros and cons of minerva vs lilith. What matchups differ between the decks and why? The other video suggested that BlackWarGreymon is harder with the Minervamon deck; could someone could explain that in more depth? Are there any other matchups where Minerva struggles more? What matchups does Minerva help in (I'm guessing Bloomlordmon and Jesmon)?

Also gotta add, love the deck and the matchups but the odds of pulling that one mad dog in a game must be so low, worse if its in security, how do you counter that? Excellent tech otherwise though. I main blue 100% and love the fact you showed blue can compete in BT5, it gave me tremendous hope when I've run it since.

Mad Dog draws a card and adds itself to hand if you see it in security, so it being in security isn’t bad at all. And he has pretty sizeable draw power in the deck, seeing it in the games he needs it isn’t too unlikely. But it’s also not like you need to see it every game, sometimes you do just go for the Ulforce swing and get lucky.
