Kenny Everett was well ahead of the curve, comedy that decades later seems edgy, naughty and sharp.

Uk should've won it, but hay 3rd place will take it.

ITV had done a similar type of beginning with Morecambe and Wise when they left the BBC to join Thames in 1978 . If I recall correctly, a BBC van turns up outside Thames Studios in Teddington and turfs the duo out the back. Sadly, they were never as good on ITV whereas Kenny's BBC show improved from his previous commercial enterprise.

Rare recording this must be. Hardly anyone remembers Bruce Forsyth presenting You Bet, most people think Matthew Kelly was the original presenter. I didn't even know Darren Day took over after Kelly. People's memories seem to be very short and fragmented when it comes to certain shows from the past.

Love the fact that Kenny was a true blue Conservative, adored by Margaret Thatcher. Today, he'd be banished to be a KZbin. He was hilarious at the Young Conservatives conference in the early 80s, saying, "Let's kick over Michael Foot's walking stick and bomb Russia, to raucous cheers. It made front pages abs, and everyone laughed. Imagine a sense of humour and normality prevailing.

The Big Tasty is the greatest burger McDonald’s UK has ever done. This needs to be brought to the States. They are missing out.

That 1.1 litre was the luxury version. I had the 957 Popular. Same colour but no carpet, no centre console, no servoed brakes etc, and eventually a big hole in the floor for viewing the road going past. Fortunately those were the days when you could get some backstreet welding place to fix it just enough for the next MOT.

Lots of stuff you could do with the idea of the hooded unit..... Drones.. You can have it so its got a side section that allows for edging... Autonomous mowers using wheels the light weight hood is the biggest thing.... Aerodynamics....
