Cool video, I love that song. But the sound... where's the bass? it's also being played faster than they usually play it.

I am in tears. I don't even know what to say. I've followed his projects here and there. But just wasn't expecting this. Plus the tragedy of an early death. Speechless. If Chris Cornell didn't himself believe he was a gift from God, I _do._

They weren’t ready for Cajuns. They never went back. In one of those videos you can see Chris swatting a bug away. Probably why they never went back.

I never realized that TOTD was pre Pearl Jam. Nor that it was the exact members minus Cornell. That's wild. I knew Soundgarden was around long before, but I just figured PJ was too. Learn new things each day. And I thought I knew damn near everything about the bands I loved.

I was in that tv studio audience for that performance in NYC on my birthday sep 22 2011. It was around 11AM and when the announcer said: “musical guest Chris Cornell” I had to pinch myself and ask my neighbor if I heard it right. When I was a kid growing up in the Netherlands Chris Cornell was a god to us in the nineties. To be that close in such an intimate setting was one of the coolest things. It was fun to see him and the guy from Jane’s addiction set up before the performance, and bob his head connecting with the Letterman band playing “love rears its ugly head” in the commercial break. Such a special moment, especially in hindsight. A simpler time.

@@rose.888 Chris wanted My Dad’s opinion and My Dad absolutely Loved it! I didn’t even find this out until I told My Dad “OMG, You’ve got to hear this song!” He said “Honey, Chris played “The Keeper for me, right here where we are sitting and I thought it was the most Beautiful song and Chris said it was called “The Keeper” and My said that he replied to Chris, it certainly is.” I about lost my shit when he told me that! I have a tattoo that says The Keeper” in Honor of Chris, and not only an absolutely Amazing song, but the Amazing story to go with it. I often tell people that if I ever wrote a book about my life, it would be called “You Can’t Make This Shit Up” True Story! Of all Chris’ performances of The Keeper, My favorite is from The David Letterman show. So many stories to tell about my Dad and the relationships he had with artists, mind blowing. Thank you for asking, it was a pleasure to answer it Rose! 🌹

@@MrDJsDaughter Wow, this is such an amazing story! Your Dad seems like such a sweet soul ❤️ I love that you got a very meaningful tattoo in honor of such a talented artist and you'll be able to keep a special story close with you. This is my first time ever hearing this song in this performance and it really is a great song! I am in love with Chris' music so this is such a treasure to have found along with your Dad's heartfelt story 😊 Thank you very much for sharing your families' beautiful story with me it was a pleasure to read! 🙏
