If someone would pay my way to a race... Well, I have heard that Leicester is the best town ever😆! So, I should probably go there. Which Leicester race is the best one? Oh, and one more question for you guys... how often do you do ParkRuns? It seems like most Saturdays will find you out there😉
@tomthetaletellerphillips5 ай бұрын
Actually, we don't get out to parkrun that often! I'm fact, I don't think I'm even at double digits yet 😝 Most, if not all of the parkruns I've done are on this channel! I'm not a morning runner. I really struggle to run as I need food first then need to leave it for a couple of hours to let it go down before I run. I also wake up stiff as a board and it takes me all day to be able to move 🤣 I do occasionally get it early to do a Barkrun with my dog though without the camera (check out the video of that if you haven't already).
@joggervlogger46755 ай бұрын
You heard right Karen. Leicester is most definitely the greatest city there is, was and will be 😉. For me, I like the 10k towards the end of the year. Right through the city centre itself and on the way back in you even get to take in the space station and the clock tower. So I love that one As for parkruns. We are trying to get to more, but with family life and work life beating us most weeks we do struggle to get to too many. They are however held every Saturday across hundreds of different venues around Britain (and abroad but not in quite so much high demand). There’s just so much fun and always great just to get out and run with a mate 👍🏻 But yes…… you must enter a Leicester race one day

Such a chilly, grey day. I'm glad it is an event that is a lot of fun and well-attended. But, I didn't realize you have races in England using "miles". I thought you only use "kilometers" over there😉
@joggervlogger46756 ай бұрын
We have both. Obviously the HM and full are miles (13.1 & 26.2) but we also have 5 miler and 10 miler races (I’m sure they’ll be others as well which I don’t particularly know about I’m afraid) but then we also switch to Km Races for things like Parkrun (5km) and my favourite race distance 10km. It was a chilly day but was just so amazing! Will definitely be doing that again next year. Thanks for watching Karen 😊👍🏻

What an amazing journey! I really appreciated how you included the joys and the difficulties that you experienced. You didn't "white-wash" it. Batteries dying, losing fuel packets, raining, pulling muscles when trying to jump, etc... and yet, so amazing and so worth it. What a memory! You make me want to do a Dopey, even though I really don't want to do a Dopey😆
@joggervlogger46757 ай бұрын
Thank you Karen. It’s such an amazing experience but their are things that go wrong and I think it’s only fair to show the complete experience and maybe it help people prepare better than I do. I would still say this is an experience that everyone must try at some point in their lives.

@@joggervlogger4675 I think another question I have is... I'm curious how you spent your time OUTSIDE of the races during the race weekend. I mean, were you on your feet a lot at the parks? Or were you trying to rest in between the events? Again, many people focus on the events themselves. But, since there is so much mileage to consider, I just wonder how people handle their time/activity level in between the events.

I stopped watching when he said he was in corral A. I find it disingenuous to worry about being swept if you are fast enough to be in corral A.
@joggervlogger46757 ай бұрын
Perfectly understood. Just to average that for you though. My POT I provided was from around 2 years ago. I had since had multiple operations and adding to the fact of fatigue and I knew I wanted to ride Everest, I was genuinely concerned about the sweep. To give you an idea, it actually took my 6:35 to complete the marathon. Will I be coral A ever again….. nope! Just lucky to have one last historic POT.

Well done making lemonade out of lemons! Looks like you PR'd in fun, as the Slackers would say.😊 First time I ran RunDisney was a half marathon during 2017 Marathon weekend. Due to expected lightning, they simply cancelled the whole thing. Super disappointing! So, my daughter and I went back to our hotel (Caribbean Beach) which also has a nice trail. We did our entire half there, along with a bunch of other runners. There were even people out cheering and giving out drinks and food. Later we went over to ESPN to get our medals. Not sure we ever really saw the lightning. Definitely memorable. Question for you... how did you get the list of character stops on the course? I don't recall ever getting that info in the past.🤔
@joggervlogger46757 ай бұрын
Hi Karen. Thanks for following along again. The list of characters had been shown to me on an instagram post. I have no idea how the guy found out himself but he happily shared the info…. So it is out there!!… I’ll be a little quicker to search for it in future events!!!

The one thing I always wondered when watching other videos was how long do those lines actually take, no one ever seemed to mention. So I thought I’d give an idea. That was a great video! You've made me want to go again. My last visit there was for the Marathon in 2020, just before Covid hit. It was wicked hot that day and it was very painful... but it was SO MUCH FUN. I'm glad you found a basket for your purchases. They would've been tricky to carry without one. My favorites were the spirit jersey and the ornament. (But, I think you were wise to get the rain jacket even if it was too big.) Questions for you... did you have a direct flight from Manchester to Orlando? Howe long was it? You looked very comfortable in your seat🙂
