As a kid, if I was given a choice between Santa's workshop and Kenner factory, I would have been confused by the choice, I mean, aren't they the same place? A bigger and scarier theme is how no matter how big and strong a company can be, it can all go bye bye in a near instant. Like I said, scary, because it's just as true for countries as well. People are people so why should it be, they can all vanish so easily? Fun trip back to my dream company as a kid. The whole empty box thing for Kenner and Star Wars showed how much clout both had at the beginning. Times sure do change. Scary indeed.

OMG you work so hard on everything, this video was jam packed with info and your visuals too. It breaks my heart to find channels like yours, and there are lots of them, where people work crazy hard and the algorithm ignores them completely. I have been so grateful for the work people put into stuff, and sometimes that makes them glad to hear, but I am one voice and one is only enough in stories / movies / TV. In real life we need thousands to millions in order for things to go smoothly. So kudos on all your hard work, and really I hope it pays off and you get all the viewers you have worked so hard for. And the whole doing a face video and podcast video on the same channel, this one voice hates that. At least mark it as podcast or something to distinguish. I have seen other channels do it too and they don't tell in their titles either and it makes it annoying to get the one that is desired. Don't make it harder than it already is to succeed. I learned a lot from you video. Well done.

@@dandyfunhouse So it's youtube making those annoying duplicate vids without tagging them. Why am I not surprised. I have never seen a company work so hard at making their own customers more frustrated except modern Disney. Better said is they were my favorite. I feel like every time younger people look back Sha’s reputation will continue to rise. They WERE fun amongst over serious joykills. 1970-74 was best live act. Golden Age of Rock n Roll lp was the Ramones Live Alive several years earlier. (Minus the doo wop songs). I was laughed at 20 years ago but 20 years from now it will be conventional wisdom- started high velocity punk rock sound.

Nice segment! I’m in the Devo rabbit hole and found this. I feel like there’s a significant chunk of the story missing just before you zoom to the Saturday Night Live performance. But I understand that would lengthen the video. I’m interested in knowing more about the time from Shout to Smooth Noodle Maps. I feel like the lack of success matched the band’s creative energy. I’ve never seen them play anything from those albums live. I love your vibe and will check out your videos!

@@dandyfunhouse yes, it’s very strange because “Oh no” was, I think, a pretty high point. I saw them live for each of Freedom, NT and Oh No tours and while each was very memorable-they were a very unique and entertaining live group-the Oh No tour was the best production of the three. So it was strange to see the next two albums with little creative energy. Maybe they were just spent? As I reminisce, there’s not another band I’ve ever seen that provided as much excitement at a concert as Devo. They were only one of my favorite groups at the time, but their concerts were second to none.
