Pentair Lighting SUCKS. You will be lucky to if these lights last 6 months before needing new ones installed. Don't buy these lights!

It depends on the codes I'd do a gfci to be safe and I think the pump needs a 20 amp breaker

Don't trash the old motor if it just needs bearings. That's a huge waste of a serious piece of equipment. A bearing change is easy, there's plenty of videos to show how. And a bearing change is WAY cheaper than a new motor. $50.00 for expensive bearings, $15.00 for a cheap set. If you are trashing your old motor, send it to me!!! I keep two motors for my pumps, one in service and one with fresh bearings to swap out. Swap in the standby motor immediately, no down time, rebuild the one with worn bearings at your leisure. If it's not in the budget to keep a spare motor on hand, you can rebuild the old one with new bearings in the same day. You CAN keep spare bearings on hand, they are affordable. That guy had his hands all over the seal, don't do that. Keep your dirty oily hands off the seals. If you touch them or they get anything at all on them, wipe them off with an alcohol dampened microfiber cloth. ANY debris of any kind, including skin oil, will fail them.

Hi Rob I having issues with my heater, its given me SFS code, I replaced the sensor and still have the code come up, when I turn the heater it runs for 1 minute and turns off, the mechanical room seat's about 8' below pool water level, the plumbing is probably 80-100' from pool to mechanical, the pump is a VSF 3HP, if you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks

Very Nice Gentlemen! Just a suggestion; Maybe you might want to follow up with a caveat about the Main Drain Sump's conformity requirements per VGBA. It would be a little more educational if you'd add some text over the clip touching upon the 1.5 times the pipe diameter distance relationship separating the Grate Cover form the suction pipe that's entering the sump. Also...an often neglected consideration is the correct pipe size, rate of flow and pool turnover requirement. The 6-fps maximum velocity for suction pipes needs to correspond with the pump's selection and the 1.5-fps allowable velocity over the cover in order to be compliant. I hope that these suggestions can help make the approach to retro-fit pools safer. Best Regards, Mic

Hi Rob, now that it has started warming up, I want to ensure I can get the pool water to run through the solar so I can extend the warm water season. My previous pool guy turned it off for winter and I am not sure how I can turn it back on. I recall it had something to with setting the right RPMs in the automation system. Any pointers?
