ERINI (a.k.a. Eirini Tornesaki), is a vocalist of jazz and Greek traditional music who blurs the lines between genres and explores intercultural dialogue through music. Growing up on Crete, she was always moved by the stories of her family who were refugees from Smyrna (Izmir) in 1922. Fascinated by the Greek culture of Asia Minor, she became passionate for the traditional music of the region. After Western classical music studies from the age of 6, Erini’s curiosity for music from around the world led her to England to study Contemporary Vocal Performance, and then on tour with Cirque Du Soleil for 3 years. Erini is also an alumna of the Master’s Program of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute. She has collaborated with Luciana Souza, Christos Zotos, amongst others and has appeared at Panama Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and Carnegie Hall, NYC. Erini performs with her Greek traditional music group, the ‘Pharos Ensemble’ and is an active member of the humanitarian project Kalesma, founded by Greek laouto player and composer Vasilis Kostas. Kalesma’s mission is to create permanent music educational programs for children in Greece. www.erinimusic.com ''the superb vocalist Eirini Tornesaki sings with delightful, joyous abandon through- out.’’ - Out and About Magazine ''stunning vocals'' - metro Boston ''supernatural voice'' - The Globe and Mail ''Eirini Tornesaki sang onstage (and sometimes above the stage) with an unusually beautiful flair.’’ - The examiner ''Bewitching vocals'' - KQED Arts ''beckoning vocals.” - Denver Post

You are listening to a troparion from the Orthros (Matins), which have written for using at Saint Silouanos feast. Here are chanting the monks choir of Simonos Petra Monastery (Holy Mountain). The troparion called "Doxastikon" because it starts with the phrase "Glory to the Father and to the Sun and to the Holy Spirit". It is Byzantine music, tone plagal first. I hope that you enjoy/like it! Where are you from?
