I had the same issue. I bought a Trek Emonda SL7 and loaded it with ENVE 65mm wheels and profile design tri-bars to have two bikes in one - it worked for about 5 races…. It was fast but I’d get off the bike and be all busted up for the run leg. My Speedmax is one week away and I can’t wait. I don’t think anyone regrets using a proper tri-bike, no matter what the cost.

"Since you work a ton on your high elbow catch, I would like to give you my method on how I achieve a high elbow catch. I know swimming is very individual and not everyone responds the same to technique advice. I still want to tell you what I wish someone would have told me years ago and I wouldnt have had to figure it out myself. I believe that the best approach to achieve a high elbow catch lies in the recovery phase of the armpull. This means, if you have to do something actively during the pull, like "reaching over the barrel" to achieve a high elbow, this is not a real high elbow. It may look like a high elbow, but the muscle recruitment is wrong. This kind of "faked" high elbow even has the tendency to appear higher than a real high elbow actually does. Look at the following swimmer for example, he obviously does have a high elbow, but if you compare him to elite swimmers, his armpull is kinda off but you cant tell exactely why: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6qklKWcZZ1kqNk A proper high elbow catch just happens with the right set up. I mean, you just make a proper arm set up in the recovery phase an especially hand entry phase, then you pull and due to the correct setup you achieve just by pulling (not thinking anymore just pull) a proper high elbow. Now look at these swimmers, their catch doesnt seem so high, but it is acutally a way more elite one with better muscle recruitment: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iX6TY56aiZued5Y kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWKslodqgJ52d7c kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGrKeomfiZ5_fac Of course they got proper stroke rhythm as well, but its not just that, its also the armstroke itself. Now, in order to achieve a high elbow by the right set up you need two things: 1) internal rotation of the shoulder 2) wrist bend. Look at these swimmers and look at their wrist how it is bend in the outstretched position. It is bend outwards. This is crucial because the bend wrist then forces the elbow up. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWXKqGhrbciCa6M the right one kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKS1hnqEp9pnh68 Now it becomes controversial and ALL swimming channels here will tell you that this is bullshit and you should never do this, but approx: 70% of olympians do it. On your breathing side you should do a thumb first entry. You should the thumb first by sliding into the water (with an outward bend wrist) no by hitting in. I know... look at these videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmjddKuDrpuGi9k the two swimmers in front (grey cap is better in terms of that than the first one) kzbin.info/www/bejne/iafLnXR3jadlgZY kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnvTkKycjdGEZ8U kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2nGmoKOh9KoobM first swimmer and first yellow lane does it perfect (does his pull look like there is any actively reaching over the barrel... no!) Because by this you achieve both.. internal rotation and a bend in the wrist. Now you may ask yourself why the two swimmers in the first video only got it on their right side (breathing side). Acutally both their arms are absolutely identical, but they appear differently because they swim a hyrbid stroke rhythm (gallop freestyle). If they would swim front quadrant their arms would appear identical. On the non breahting side you dont try to slide in, but just concentrate on a bend wrist and not on entering in a specific way (or you just let it come how it comes, but if you concentrate on anything, then just on the bend wrist)."

Du kannst also overall davon nur profitieren.
