when i was younger i would record family guy on my familys recording box and these 60 second news segments would play just before, was watching news from months or years prior over and over, that little opening tune is so nostalgic.

I think...FINK, is the MOST HONEST!! (out of a male and female band member...) When it comes to describing WHAT THE Revolution CONTRIBUTED TO IN Prince"s Catalog. WE ALL KNOW...HE INITIALLY, PRIMARILY AND CONTINUOUSLY -- WORKED ALONE. HE DIDNT need ANYONE ELSE. PERIOD. (wendy)

Funny. They didn't play black artists at all in the radio in the last century and they don't play white ones now

So, ran across Take Me Away in like 2005. It forever exists in my “get me movin” playlist 😄👍🏾 Zoom to now, I saw an IG post of Nina Mckinny, saw prophetsofrock, went there, immediately watched Lisa Lopes. THEN saw a face I hadn’t seen in a while… Fefe Dobson. You said full video on my platforms, whiiiiich brought me here. Simply, thanks for that joyous ride at 6am ☺️✌🏾 Must add this… you were absolutely RIGHT! She’s in a regular room, not lighting room, with a cap on, RECOVERING FROM COVID, and yet STILL beautiful, very cute, young face, and that doggone smile. Like you said, she’s definitely GOOD PEOPLE! ☺️👍🏾. Thx again!

For those of you that used to rush home after school to watch Video Music Box on channel U-31, this is director Lionel Martin aka the Vid Kid who co-founded and co-hosted the show with Ralph McDaniels. Additionally, he became the pioneer behind countless urban (hip hop) music videos that we grew up watching. He's a Queens legend from Cambria.

Doubt any local groups got air play on commercial radio anywhere in America even in early 80's. Maybe an hour local licks show at 7 AM on a Sunday. Even with cocaine.

I wish he would have detailed what exactly Prince played on those tracks. I've never heard him say what instruments were his. I want to believe it was Prince playing guitar on If You See Me but have never comfirmed it. Love that part

Love his insight but I always recoil when people say "I only write hits".. People should start with writing good music before they worry about trying to write hits.. You never know what song is going to hit big. I understand the sentiment, but it is sort of disingenuous coming from him, someone like Prince wrote more than 1000 songs probably, I doubt he was always thinking this one is a hit.. sometimes you just make music
