Those ones dropping both the weakness and resistance of the same type are makin me lol cause even today pokemon tcg never made use of diverse weakness and resistance tables and just keeps them all relatively the same. So back than the go too was weakness x2 resistance -30 so this still is advanteous at "lower levels" because if damage is 30, it becomes 60 because x2 -30 being 30 again. But if it were 20, it'll become 10 and so fourth. So it creates this weird curve, whih isnt a bad take really just not very efficient. Than again noone is playing randomizer for balance but it amazes me how in essence you get more interesting dynamics and interactions in randomizers. Like if shit aint gonnna be balanced anyway it might as well be interesting.

Ive heard of randomizing the mainline games but randomizing the TCG? haha some of these card combos were crazy but this is awesome gonna go back and watch the begining of this series!

I'm getting this game in the mail tomorrow. I have 999.59 hours in TCG 1. It's always been my go to game when I'm bored or on the toilet. When i discovered some beautiful soul translated this, i bought it immediately.

@sturtaz I'm an old man, so I can tell you exactly why lol. Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, we were 2+ years behind Japan on pokemon. By the time we got pokemon cards for the first time, they were already distributing Neo Genesis (2nd generation of cards and pokemon). By the time we got TCG 2, the gameboy advance was already in the works. Nintendo of America decided not to translate TC2 to make way for the new GBA library.

The back light was such a great add on for the SP. I agree! While I still have my original SP. I do wish I still had my original cartridge for this game. :<

Impressed at the effort you put into the card graphics on either side! Did you make them using pokecardmaker?

I believe the game boy game works well if you know the cards very well. Obviously, that knowledge is impossible for a randomizer. I think the visuals help compensate for the lackluster game boy interface and is pretty entertaining too. I determined. I've been using Pokecard. Although it has its glitches, it seems to do the best job at creating the retro gen 1 card design.

i think plus power applies to the active pokemon so myb when you retreated spearow into machop you lost it

You are correct. PlusPower, until Gen 5, physically attached to the active Pokemon in time. The 2011 print made the card more dynamic.

Great question. Sometimes I feel these games are rigged and the effectiveness of Smokescreen would magically change when on my side of the board. I'd rather keep as few luck elements off my side of the board.

Why did you stick with this deck for most of the game? Is it your One True Deck, with all your faves?

Great question. I acknowledge some people may like to create separate decks for certain match-ups. For me, I find it easier to improve the starter deck. Although, I don't consider myself a speed-runner, it also saves time from maintaining different decks. Lastly, I think it's kind of a wholesome thought to take the deck you started with and beat the game with it. This is similar to taking your starting Pokemon in the main games and carrying it with you to the end.

I have never heard someone tell me that before. I honestly thought I flipped a ton of tails, so I wanted to visually represent how horrible my luck was. The counter ended up backfiring on me but I had already committed to editing at that point.

Schrödinger's Energy. When it's sitting on the Charizard, it counts as 2. When you're discarding it to use Charizard's attack, it counts as 1.

Yeah. Base Set Charizard is the perfect example of exemplifying the difference between "Energy" and "Energy Card". It's just easy to forget since attacks in the current sets rarely operate that way.

I don't have any particular reason other than habit from playing it years ago. Electric types tend to be the first type I rip from the Charmander starter deck as well since they are somewhat lackluster compared to other types. More practically, it does invoke some level of handicap on the NPCs.

Rumors have it that I have super powers and that my super power is to manipulate coins so they always land on tails when flipped near me. Although, I can't turn off that super power. I hope Marvel will get the movie started soon.

I vaguely remember having struggles with it too. I have a lot more experience now with the proper way to build a deck. RNG is still a royal pain though. :)
