I was saved out of a Roman Catholic upbringing! A person, from a non-denominational church, who lead me through a salvation booklet may not have been saved. Crazy right? Last I heard years ago, he had fallen away. I may have been walked through salvation by another non-believer!! 😆. Praise the Lord!! I recently have moved away from the worldly, compromising, mega church non-denominationals to a small Independent Fundamental Baptist Church and finally feel at home!! Yes, justification is absolutely by faith and salvation comes from God alone. Christ taught this and Catholics believe it. But it is possible to lose that salvation by continuing to sin without trying to repent. If someone says they believe in Christ but none of their works are good, then they are saying no to God's grace, and rejection of God equals rejection of Heaven. Faith without works is dead. This isn't a Catholic invention, it comes straight from scripture (James 2:14-26). See also Matt 7:21-26, Matt 19: 16-22, Romans 2:2-10, Gal 5:6, James 2:20-24. 3) while the doctrine of papacy may have been clarified in the 1800s, Papacy was founded by Christ when He declared Peter the rock on which He would build His Church, which the gates of Hell would not prevail against (Matthew 16:17-19).

What Archaeology Proved There is much archaeological evidence that Peter was at Rome Pope Paul VI announced officially something that had been discussed in archaeological literature for years: that the actual tomb of the first pope had been identified conclusively. The story of how all this was determined is discussed in John Evangelist Walsh’s book, The Bones of St. Peter. The Church in Rome was once a True Church of Christ. Paul preached and died by beheading in Rome, the capital of the Roman Empire under Nero. The early Christians many of them Italian were also thrown to the wild beast and died as martyrs for Christ in the Coloseum in Rome.
