Thank you very much for this great information. I finally know what to look out for.

Well, that's just inconvenient. I think I'll just go with my Opinel No8 knife and a spork. That way my spoon & fork both have convenient full length handle & I'm not forced to put my fingers anywhere near my knife blade when cutting tough meat on a light weight plate balanced precariously on my knees while sitting on a less than conveniently shaped rock.

No, you cannot have poison ivy & poison oak on the same vine. Some poison ivy has bigger 'thumbs' than others. The leaflets on P.I. are not all smooth (lacking lobes/serrations). Poison oak leaflets have much more pronounced notches/lobes and are usually fuzzy on both sides. Do an internet search and use a reputable website to learn about these plants. Both poison ivy & poison oak are tricky to ID since their color, size, habit, and leaf shape & sheen can vary so much!

It is a good idea but why don't you sell it with 2 no 8 knives. Perhaps a model without a blade, but with other useful stuff like a bottle opener and corkscrew. Most people use the fork and spoon together.

Another informative video from the guys at the Knife Shoppe & Survival Outpost in Ootewah, Tennessee. Both short-term and long-term food storage is something that all who desire to be better prepared in an emergency or disaster situation should consider. I can see these Ready Wise Freeze Dried Meals working well on a hunting or backpacking trip, in a Bug Out or Get Home pack, or in an emergency food cash at home. In this crazy world, we just have no idea when some interruption in the food supply chain is going to result in a food shortage. Thanks to Brian for sharing this taste testing.

Great video! Your should do a video over your blade collection.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Honestly I don't so much collect anymore as they just accumulate over time as I gather specific knives to use in different videos and to teach specific lessons with. But different groupings of the accumulation can be seen scattered out through my videos. Like the one on Bushcraft vs Survival knife I did last autumn, one I did on defining a survival knife last Spring I khink, and one on which knife to use for what task I did back in the late summer of 2022.

@@bgriffin4712 ok idea do a video on your favorite top 3 for daily use, favorite 3 for bushcraft, 3 for woods scouting and 3 self defense. And so on and so forth. I think it'd be a good video.

@agentsin62868 ай бұрын
Drums are trash. You need to make the spring go in 360° and that's tough. Plus drums are bulkier than standard mags. Go with standard or extended mags if you like convenience. Although I've heard drums are "getting better" so I'm not 100% on that anymore.

I do like it, but Opinels are prone to swelling. This means certain meals using the spoon in particular need to be carefully eaten. They should have used a synthetic handle for the picnic+ kit

I've slowly been collecting camping cookware for a bit now and I've just heard of Opinel within the past month and wished I had heard of them sooner! My 10 and 10 with corkscrew arrived a couple of days ago and the bottle opener works like a charm! Saw these two attachments and immediately bought the set and I can't wait to get them out into the campsite! For the price, these knives are rock solid.

For me..prepping wasnt prepping ..it was just what we did ..i can remember my great grandmother, my grandmother and my parents always had canned food from the garden ...i didnt understand or even ask why we did what we did..but now, ..i know why!
@bgriffin471211 ай бұрын
That's how it started for me. It wasn't about preparing for some doomsday, just being prepared for bad weather, harsh times etc. Making sure we'd do okay through the hiccups of life.
