This guy went from a nobody to the absolute ruler of Palmont City and the most wanted racer in Rockport. He had a friend he thought was a close ally, only to be betrayed. He became the sole reason Most Wanted happened-going to Rockport either to lay low or to start anew, but ultimately falling back into the only thing he was good at: street racing. He got involved with an underground street racing syndicate, had his car sabotaged and stolen by a piece of sh*t who thought he was someone else, and learned the hard way that not everyone plays fair. Despite being knocked down in both Palmont and Rockport, he refused to give up-evident from how we, as players, guide his journey. In the end, he defeated Razor fair and square, became the most wanted racer, and forced Rockport's elite enforcer, Cross, to his knees-ultimately costing him his job and turning him into a bounty hunter, much like how the player started: a nobody. He went back to Palmont City, hoping for a fresh start-but was immediately chased down by Cross. His M3 GTR was totaled, which serves as a powerful metaphor: "Your past will always come back to bite you." Losing the M3, in my opinion, was a symbolic moment. It was a great way for the hero to start anew and leave behind everything he had done in Rockport-to finally move on. He owed Darius once again for saving him, just like before. To repay the favor, he took down every single crew in Palmont, including (possibly) his original rival, Kenji. (I heard rumors that Kenji was originally supposed to play a bigger role. If that's true, then I assume he was meant to be the player's original rival.) Later, he found out that Darius had been betraying him from the very start-switching the prize money and keeping it all for himself. He finally raced that traitor, and I really hope he did it in his M3 GTR. (I also heard rumors that the M3 GTR was supposed to be fixable, and that the crews existed to help with this? But I’m not sure.) If that’s true, then it’s canon in my book. Racing your former ally and friend, using your signature car, is the perfect true ending for this hero.
