Gary, I found a way to fix the problemm. 1) Go to settings and make sure your wrist detection ( wake) is on. 2) Scroll down to Reset and hit erase all contents and settings 3) The system may ask you whether you want to keep all the data or set up as a new watch. You choose set up as a new watch. 4) You may have to keep your I phone closer to the watch and keep your Apple ID and Pass word ready. 5) Follow step by step instructions , similar that you had done when you bought the Watch as new. 6) once the set up is done and the watch is all powered up, Bingo! your wake screen will work once you lift your wrist.

Hi, i have the same problem. What was the outcome?

Sent mine back twice now in three weeks "no defect found"

I have the same issue. Took it in last weekend only to have them keep the watch for a week and not be able to replicate it so they wiped it and set it up as new (which was done twice before going in for repair by me). After getting it back it worked for an hour and then it went back to locking on me after going to sleep. Now I have to take it back in for repair after driving home.
