You have to disconnect battery before doing all that
@AUTOTUB34 күн бұрын
I can understand why you would say that. I just saw the video again and on 1:58 of this video more codes came on. But the system also cleared them away. Would that be the affect? What is your opinion about disconnecting the battery before cleaning? Why would you recommend doing this first? It's good to hear other peoples opinion of what they know. I am not a mechanic but I like researching car things.

I seen in an old video you made about replacing a catalyst converter that had a po430 code. You found a used one but I didn't know you could buy used ones. I need one for my 2003 Toyota Camry Xle 3.0v6 but I can't afford a new one.
@AUTOTUB33 ай бұрын
@dannycolemire2652 it could be hard to find it used. You will need to look online for someone parting out a 2003 toyota camry v6. It can be risky buying it used because it could be bad too. I know a new original catalytic converter is expensive. Aftermarket catalytic converters are cheap to buy. I remember buying an Aftermarket catalytic converter for my 2002 toyota Corolla. It cost me $200 at a muffler shop near me. It was ok.
@dannycolemire26523 ай бұрын
@@AUTOTUB3 I put an aftermarket one on but it lasted about 6 months and the code returned. During that time though I had a spark plug coil go bad and caused several misfires so I was told that could have damaged the new cat. Idk put that engine light bugs me to no end

@dannycolemire2652 how long did you drive it like that with misfire codes?
@dannycolemire26523 ай бұрын
@@AUTOTUB3 To be honest it wasn't very far the check engine light started flashing and my car started missing actually shaking so I immediately pulled over so probably no more than 2 to 3 miles
@AUTOTUB33 ай бұрын
@dannycolemire2652 that should not have damaged your catalytic converter that quickly. I just remembered that the 2002 toyota Corolla that I put a new universal catalytic converter on had already a bad universal catalytic converter on it, which was bad. So, I think universal catalytic converters do not last a long time. It is better if you try to find the original catalytic converter online. I have a 2003 F250 Super Duty with 370,000 miles, and it still has its original catalytic converter that passes smog. I always do oil changes every 2500-3000 miles. Oil filter. Air filter. Coil changes. I think I have only done 2 times a set of spark plug changes. Pcv valve every 15,000-20,000 miles. If you do preventative maintenance regularly, it should last you a long time. I try to do maintenance even if I do not need it soon. I have been thinking of making a video about why catalytic converters go bad. I have been wanting to do a test on that subject. I just need more free time. I will soon. I have a project car ready to start doing tests on evap codes. To pass smog. I m also trying to find an original catalytic converter for my project car to do test on.

@mohammedawd8202 A person parting out his prius online. You can also try copart or someone online selling a complete crashed prius that they dont want. I seen people sell their cars with problems online. I remember waiting 6 months to find a catalytic converter for another car. If you are lucky you will get one. You have to be patience sometimes. Its not easy. But it is better than paying thousands of dollars for a brand new catalytic converter from the dealership.

Remember to disconnect the trucks battery before you take off the starter. It can be dangerous to remove it with a battery connected. There is a positive cable that goes to the starter. You can accidentally cause a spark.

Read the description at the bottom of the video. I described what I did first. It had a P0155 code. I basically only checked the air/fuel ratio sensor and it was not working. I changed it. And that code also fixed the p0440, p0441 and p0446 code. The First code I had was p0155 code. That is the only code I researched to fine the problem. It was only the 02 sensor that was bad. I did not go more deep into finding other causes because that was the problem and it fixed it.
