Of course there's no mention of the many settler massacres or the land grabbing context, but when indigenous people retaliate, it's now a "massacre." We see the same narrative framing today, 150 years later, being used to attempt to blame people for fighting to survive on and retain their own ancestral lands-for example, on Arab lands. I appreciate that the filmmaker tried to name some of the injustices done to Garry and other indigenous peoples (e.g. the deceptions), but I hope that we can grow up to telling a truthful narrative of our history so that we have a hope for the future of all of these holy lands. Much love

Because this has been asked elsewhere about this video, and on the suspicion you're refering to the same thing... what you're seeing early on is something called the Bellamy salute ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellamy_salute ), which dates to 1892 and was one of the official U.S. flag salutes before Hitler started using something very similar. That is _not_ a Nazi salute that you're seeing! We've also added this information into the description now.

i knew this guy personally for a little while, travelled on the road with mr. blumberg himself. we were both in the back of the box van 1 night and hes on his little cot reading a book in the dark with his little head lamp. (this was before i knew ANYTHING about what was going on) but i knew a little bit from my buddy that he did time and the fbi caught him for stealing a bunch of books. this didnt bother me at all. i was curious. i wanted to know what he was thinking and why he did things the way he did things. so back to the van at night. i forgot exactly how i asked but i said something like “why do you read so much” and he said (not exact i cant remember) they took all those books away from me but guess what, i read em all and they’re up here *points to head*. this man did not steal books for $. he had lots of $. he wanted knowledge. If you want any more stories thatll be 19.99 plus tax 😂🎉😈👑🌲♥️💪🙏😎❄️😊

One more comment: this was the last season of single-platoon football in the NCAA until a brief return for economic reasons in 1953, so the same players are moving back and forth on offense and defense, sort of like basketball or soccer or rugby today...

This appears to be Oregon State film. The game was held at Bell Field in Corvallis on Nov. 9, 1940, and won by the Beavs, 21-0. The Beavers are wearing orange uniforms and black helmets and WSC is in white. Almost all the offensive plays show OSC, which is kind of a pity since the Beaver defense was highly regarded and put two long-term players into the NFL. I've been writing up a really nice Wikipedia page on the *1940 Oregon State Beavers football team* and am absolutely tickled that this film exists. I could never figure out why whenever a pass was being thrown it was a halfback doing the throwing - I didn't see a single newspaper mention of the OSC starting quarterback, George Peters, throwing a touchdown pass for the entire season. Left halfback Bob Dethman, on the other hand had several. Now I get it: under the single wing offense the quarterback was the "blocking back" and the ball came back either to the left halfback or the fullback. I've got all the OSC uniform numbers up on the Wikipedia page. You can't see too many in this film, unfortunately. Note that Beaver head coach Lonnie Stiner used a "double deck" substitution system, in which the starters played quarters 1 and 3 and the reserves played quarters 2 and 4. It is hard to figure out quarter breaks other than by direction on the field.

Was at this game with my Dad as a 16th birthday gift. We've reminisced over it often over the years. Oregon featured Bobby Moore, who eventually changed his name to Ahmad Rashaad. He was a force. But Bernard Jackson outplayed him. The play of the game was the fake punt at 31:15 that Jackson ran into the end zone. NO ONE could find the ball until he was well on his way, including fans. Its hard to see on this film. The ball was snapped to a back (Grandberry?) who quickly pushed it forward between Jackson's legs with his right hand before faking a pitch with his left. Jackson had to pause, bent over hiding the ball until traffic cleared. An Oregon D lineman actually put his hand on Jackson's helmet as he searched for the ball. What a great moment...seeing him streaking down the sideline with fans going nuts! I've some precious memories from Joe Albi days.
