Mine arrived last week. I agree, not in too bad shape and not very oily. Did not need much to get it going. The included thread is no good - get bonded nylon thread instead. Clean up and sand smooth the bobbin case and shuttle, lubricate a little. Needed to drop the needle bar by 2mm to reliably catch the bobbin thread but it works after not too much messing around. Not a bad deal for a machine that needs to be fabricated for $30 to be sold retail for about $120.

I just acquired this old model for free. Still has the original Tecumseh 6 HP engine. I replaced the head gasket ,changed the oil and tinkered with the carb for a while. Well this baby now runs like new. Built like a brick outhouse.

I am so thankful for this video!! I do appreciate the fact that you are just winging it with what you’ve got already. I hope you have more Chevy spark videos I can watch. Because I much prefer to do the simple car work myself. 15 out of 10. Keep doing what your doing!

Your bar may be plugged. Take it off and clean the groove. I use very thin bar oil. Works good.

Great job Russ on the video and general mechanical skills to explain it. As a 70 yr old that grew up in a lawnmower shop, let me share a few tidbits with you (1) I own a 1973 Troy Bilt Horse Model I ; Serial# 76613, that has original 6HP Tecumseh HH60 - 105080E Ser# 3309R that looks just like yours so I know a bit about them. (2) Several of your viewers mentioned disconnecting the "low-oil" warning wire. Allow me to mention a paragraph in both the original manual, and Edition 3 (1989) where they warn users about when tilling uphill, to pay close attention. On level ground tilling 10"deep, the bottom of engine can be 30° from horizontal or flat - and add another 15° of hill and now engine is tilted back at 45°-degree angle. The oil splasher on that engine was not designed to operate at that much of an extreme, so limit amount of time and make sure oil level is full. I don't suspect the Predator engine you used is designed for that either. It’s why newer 20-25hp lawn tractor now have a “pressurized” oiling system. (3) One gent was talking about not breaking ground - another offered good advice of taking 1-2” first pass or that machine will literally jump out of your hands. I wish there was a way to attach photos to this comment section.

*This saw does exactly what I'd hoped The 9" size, 🌻 **allabout.wiki/DECKER** weight, & ease of use are right on for me. I decided to power up my gas chainsaw on a 20 yr old, 12" diam burford stump because I didn't want to overtax the 20V, but the 20V was perfect for cutting a bunch of 4" branches into firewood. That's what I wanted: an "easy" chainsaw for light duty (too big for a lopper) on my 1/2 acre woodsy property.*

In my opinion , If one is going to explain solar systems to people , I feel the first step would be to explain their usage and conversion . another words replacing the electric hot water heater with a propane hot water heater. And replace their electric 220 ac submersable well pump with a 48 volt dc pump . and so on . Most people build their solar systems a lot bigger than they need to ! With just a few changes , you end up only needing half the system. Just food for thought.
@stevelamperta865
@stevelamperta865 3 жыл бұрын
The manufacturer does not support stacking these SW units, also You would have better efficiency with a 48 volt system . I run Aims inverter/charger , In my opinion , there the best you can get, there the most dependable , there a low frequency inverter, And they have every option you could possibly need for any install . I wouldn't consider anything but a low frequency inverter , for obvious reasons.

Unless I'm missing something , that's not true at all ! I am completely off the grid and have had a secondary solar system for years. My system is made up of different brands . I took what I felt in my opinion was the best piece of equipment from each company and made my own system and its been working great for years now. So yes , you absolutely can use different brand names , you are not committed to just one when you start building a system. I don't know why , or what would make you say something like that .....

Thanks, very informative. The hot water heating by evacuated tubes, I was of the notion that current ideas favour pv electric water heating. I'm going that route, as it appears less complicated. I do know the evac tubes are about 95% efficient which is a great incentive.
