Great video, I have been searching for the proper way to skin out a bear without ruining it, you could just tell us the website to buy one of those hat's, be glad to pay for it.

Outstanding video! I kept thinking: "Tony must have a taxidermy business on the side!" I have skinned and butchered many animals... too many to count, but that is the cleanest process I have ever witnessed. I also used to have a taxidermy business on the side but gave it up in favor of more family time and time in the field. Kudos for your meticulous attention to detail and thorough explanation of the processes. Great work.

Why you hunt them? There is more than enough remote places where you can just dislocate them.

The hunting pays for these kinds of projects. If done sustainably, with good scientific management it can be a major force in the conservation movement.

looks like I won't be hunting any Bison, ever. 0 for 10 so that means no Bison for me. good video. love these animals and feel the Native Indians should have the most access to harvesting these animals.

If you want to watch how a real pro fillets pike fast and easy so look at a pro from Finland. Risto kosonen : Kalakasittely. He he fillets all kind of northern fishes. Easy and very little waste.

I also forage mushrooms in the wild (I film them too). Well explained. Interesting species shown. The season is just beginning, I can't wait to begin finding some edibles too. Thanks for sharing. I've subbed and liked. 👌

There should be more Conversation officers in Ontario I'm seeing retards keeping the big females and they're not supposed to in the springtime. However their salary is not the best that's why there aren't any officers anymore.

This guy is awesome - such a great video. The only thing I do differently is I wouldn't cut the muscle group into steaks before freezing. You're exposing more surface area to freezer burn as opposed to cutting them when you take them out to use.

With deer, I've always field gutted right away to get the meat cooling down asap. Is it not the same with bear? Our season starts with deer season (end of Sept) so it can still be quite hot during the daytime. I guess the quarters will cool with skinning, but I'd be concerned about the backstrap, etc

It is always the best practice to get the hide off as soon as possible in warmer weather. There are times I leave the hide on. Particularly when the environment makes it difficult to keep the meat clean during transportation (e.g., sandy or muddy soil) Typically once I am in a safe clean area I will remove the hide and begin the cooling process. During the last couple of seasons I have brought animals home hide-on when the method of transportation, temperature and environmental conditions made it possible. Processing an animal in the clean space of my shop has certainly allowed for high quality meat care. I typically do this when the temperature is at or near freezing for the majority of the day. Good luck on your season. Jim Welsh Hunter Education and Ethics Government of Yukon

I was a bit surprised to see a conservation officer doing the video. However, I must admit, I think it's a GREAT idea. It shows that "enforcement" isn't just about writing tickets. It shows that you also enjoy the harvest and can share in good ideas. Thank you Shawn for setting a great example.
