Yes our forefathers are from Europe, in which the New America was settled and those settler's fought to break away from The British...So deal with who and where every one has started fromWe are here now and it's now that we're fighting for America againI'm just not certain anyone understand's who we're fightingOr for that matter, what we're fighting for... I'm thinking out loud on some very old posts, but the film footage here is undeniable as to how we as Americans Now are feeling about taking a very strong stand for what is right ...for this current energy building over so many year's...

Never mentioned the word peaceful did I ? I was trying to put some context about the film and the actual history, Many of the Americans who fought the British would have had British ancestry just like the founding fathers ! Do you know what you are arguing about ? I see your from the Netherlands ...... what's your opinion of William of Orange ?
@brammatie212 жыл бұрын
And none of the less your comment is almost unreadable, so many errors.. I'm starting to think you are just a naive child who is British and thinks England has a completely clean history/ never did anything wrong... Come on man... just get over it, English people in history where assholes..
@brammatie212 жыл бұрын
Expanding, colonizing. yes, are you really trying to defend that colonizing or as you call it ''expanding'' where peaceful? (i explained this in my previous comment) You are British i presume? yeah of course... the British NEVER did anything wrong in the history, right? '' you were not there and neither was I'' Okay that is just a ridiculous statement.. come on man, think about it... And i really don't get why you are starting to talk about America?
@SheffMick12 жыл бұрын
Which entire populations were brutally murdered by the English then ? The world was expanding the English, Spanish, French, Dutch and Portuguese were colonising, the thing about America was in my original point that the founding fathers were predominantly of British origin. You have read some history and formed a view, you were not there and neither was I, what is your argument ? DUDE (ain't that American ?)
@brammatie212 жыл бұрын
oh and not to mention the sadistic ways gladiators fought
@brammatie212 жыл бұрын
pfff.. really dude? The English brutally murdered entire populations only to make them a colony, they traded slaves, suppressed a huge amount of people, fought countless wars, led the crusades which where absolutely pointless, etc, etc. The Romans? pretty much the same, fought countless wars burned entire city's and civilizations for example Carthage, the citizens of Rome had the right to do everything they wanted with their ''slaves'', etc, etc
@SheffMick12 жыл бұрын
What horrible things did they do to the world ? You don't make any sense ! What do you think the Romans did then ? It's history people need to get over it the world was a different place back then !
@brammatie212 жыл бұрын
OH come on.. don't say the English weren't bad.. don't be so naive. they did horrible things to the world just like, germany, the netherlands, belgium, france, spain, portugal, amerika, etc. etc.

@sparta784 Well you've got me all figured out. I've never been outside my comp room in fact, I've never seen Europe, the Caribbean or Japan. No, all I do is sit on my fat ass all day, watch TV about those places, and snark at how lucky I am to be in my country (the greatest in the world btw), Till I get bored and go on youtube to make fun of peoples youtube names, It gives me a sense of self-worth. But I live in small town Paris Texas, and 'round here, folks do that. Vote Rick Perry!

@Grunt922 Relax cowboy nobody is taking your guns. Unfortunately for your country, the gun situation is irreversible. If there was sudden gun control in America, there would be riots and probably more gun violence. In the days of muskets when the first colonists were settling the west, that sort of thing was needed because there was lawlessness and you needed to protect yourself from natives, criminals or animals.But did the founding fathers of America intend to apply this clause now? I doubt it
@3dwardcullen6913 жыл бұрын
@Grunt922 Do you know what is happening in Mexico right now? Armed drug cartel are taking over. Mexico is almost in a civil war because it has no gun control, like your country. When the Mexican army is called to patrol the streets of Mexican cities, perhaps Mexico is not the best example to argue your case on no gun control. And the thing that you said about the UK is just plain wrong. The bottom line is, relaxing gun control increases gun related violence, pure and simple.
@3dwardcullen6913 жыл бұрын
@Grunt922 Kennesaw, Georgia? Really? Obviously a place like Kennesaw has low crime when its population is just under 30 000. That is a terrible statistical misrepresentation of why America needs less gun control. Any town or hamlet has lower crime than any city, relatively speaking. If you are suggesting that less gun control= less crime, then why don't you look at other countries who have gun control, and compare their crime rates to America's? That would be paint an entirely different picture.
@3dwardcullen6913 жыл бұрын
@Grunt922 So if I go to New York, see the filthy slums peppered by skyscrapers and happen to witness an armed robbery (which happens often there), I'm just gonna conclude that Americans are crazy gun loving thieves that all live in filthy slums. Right? And I wouldn't be surprised if Obama got reelected, sure the people don't like him, but they fear his opposition more. His competition is made of crazy right wing extremists that nobody wants in power. People will pick the lesser of the two evils

wow this is the heavy hearted, paragraph intense section of youtube I take it? I've read several of the comments, enjoy music, and also enjoy history. I found this film good to a degree, but at the same time it's a movie and people need to understand that cinema is meant to ENTERTAIN, though some dictate ideals that should be done. It's up to the VIEWER to decide for themself
@3dwardcullen6913 жыл бұрын
@Grunt922 Have you been to New York? But seriously how is that relevant to what I said? I raised so many points on why this movie is a sack of lies, not just the way slavery was depicted. But also the whole thing about the "British atrocities" which is BS. In reality, far more atrocities were committed on the American side. The British never believed in killing its own unarmed colonials. Its just glorified American propaganda and your nationalism prevents you from seeing the objective truth.

Portraying the English as evil is a small part of the movie. The main message of this movie is to remind us what made America great. To show us how all our ancestors went through hell but fought like hell too. They actually lost their kids, limbs, and homes but still gave it their all. Maybe trying to be politically correct isn't a good thing if it makes people see America as an arrogant, useless jerk. :,(
@potctk13 жыл бұрын
@3dwardcullen69 the movie is not called " how the colonies had slaves just like every one else did " its called " the patriot " about how we won are freedom, do you think we were the first to have slaves, who do you think gave us the slaves? african villages raided other villages and had no use for the prisoners that they took, so they traded them with europe and every oe up there. slaves date back until rome. and those were still english citizans. america faught for equal rights eventully.
@Nate54444413 жыл бұрын
@3dwardcullen69 I never said that the british used slaves I'm jus saying they didn't really do anything about...they really didn't care that the colonists used slaves....and I don't feel like listing all the reasons that the Americans drafted the Decleraiton of Independence.
@3dwardcullen6913 жыл бұрын
@Nate544444 thanks for the grade 4 history lesson Nate. That was really insightful. Slavery wasn't supported under British law (something even this American propaganda crazed movie mentions). Also the reasons for the declaration of independence are far more complicated than what you just mentioned. But good attempt keep at it champ :)
@Nate54444413 жыл бұрын
@3dwardcullen69 Don't think that the English treated slaves any different...England imposed heavy taxes to try and exert their dominance over the colonies after the years of neglecting the colonies...Essentially americans got tired of it and whipped english but and started a new country

@3dwardcullen6913 жыл бұрын
@5doorsdown625 Yeah and everyone in first year history knows that the British imposed heavy taxes on Americans after the Amerindian war, thanks. And this is the main reason for your revolution. Not because of atrocities committed by the British as falsely presented in this movie. The British were not saintly towards African and Native Americans, but they treated them a lot more fairly than the Americans. Slavery was unsupported in British law since 1772. That's a pretty valid reason is it not?
@5doorsdown62513 жыл бұрын
@3dwardcullen69 Well its true the America's had slaves, so did the British so i dont see any valid reason for pointing towards the Americans for treating slaves poorly. Second it was not about the financial value of the tax that was levied. To give you a history lesson that is long over-due most Americans avoided this tax. Up until the french and Indian war America paid very little in taxes. After the war the British were broke and thrusted taxes upon the Americans in due for their "protection"

@northmeister America doesn't need propaganda? What a naive statement. Tell that to the millions of unemployed workers, and many more millions of Americans trapped in cubicles. You still believe in equal opportunity, as you work for corporations that outsource your jobs? Democracy (what America stands for) is useless when the whole country is run by a wealthy few. And freedom/liberty is only possible if you have the money for it. Moreover, USA was not historically founded on these principles.
@northmeister13 жыл бұрын
@3dwardcullen69 --- America doesn't need propaganda... our dedication to Life, Liberty, and Happiness, to a Free Republic and expanding democracy is evidenced throughout our history. Every nation struggles with their identity and we have overcome and lived up to our principles more than any other nation on Earth and we are the only nation founded on Liberty and Constitutional government dedicated to Happiness of Man. Nope we don't need propaganda our history speaks for itself - right Europe.

@HollyTNUSA You throw around the word "liberal" as if it were an insult. Sorry being a liberal is not insulting. Also, there are no such thing as liberal colleges, there are only colleges, and If the majority of college students happen to be liberal then that should tell you something about your own education. Let me correct you: I have the right to say whatever I want UNCONDITIONALLY. I don't hate America, but I dislike stupidity, so if you rely on this movie for history, then youre dismissed.
