Hi cory, good idea,but i do it different.And my mirrors are fixed on the body forever. I will explain what you need. 2 thin insect needles, 1 drillbit and CA glue. Drill a small hole in the mirror stand, not to far, a drop of ca glue on the needle point. After 10 minutes give or take,cut with a plier the neddle away untill 5 mm sticks out of the mirror stand. . Now you drill a hole in the car body where you like to have the mirror. Paint the body and mirror,after polishing just a tiny drop of CA glue on that rest of the needle. Push it in place and fixed forever without damage to your paint. You can also leave the needle a bit longer and use UV resin to glue it in place. I will show it on the Beginners Facebook page in the near future.
@ScaleModelingNetwork-b1s10 күн бұрын
@@janvanrenselaar5998 yes you pin it to the body before you paint it, not everyone does this and I certainly could do it the easy way, but I wanted to show other variations for this who won’t pin it.
@janvanrenselaar599810 күн бұрын
@ScaleModelingNetwork-b1s Ahh ok Cory. Never to old to learn new tricks. No i put them on after painting when the mirror are not in the body color. I use that pin for the crocodilclamp when painting. Then the bottom stays paintfree. And you can sand and Polish the body more easy and your not having the danger to damage the mirrors while sanding and polishing. Mirror go on by me at the very last moment. The carpet monster is always hungry here
