Notice Steve's Cymbals changed, @ 0:04 + also Last "cymbal-smash" "Crash" @ 5:55 .... Force breaks alot often than realized...it held up! "Dont wanna break all-time Favs", Hard to believe the beating withstanding before failure...

When I watched this again tonight, it had been awhile since I watch it. Anyway as I watched, I thought of the many people and especially guitar players who think they know what makes someone a good guitar player or not. I don't know how many comments I have seen that put Clapton down saying " so and so" is better because they can play faster than Eric etc. etc. Being able to play a million notes a second, doesn't make you a great guitar player. I have been playing guitar for 50+ years now, and I am still as big of an Eric fan as I was in 1967 (when I first started listening to him). Its not just that Eric is a great guitar player IMO, what separate's Eric from the endless list of most other guitarists Is that he can also write hit after hit and he has a great i voice imo. An example of what makes him good....I can play this on the guitar note for note and so can ten thousand other guitar players....but NOBODY on the planet can sound exactly like Eric...and make it sound this good :-)

In my opinion Steve Jordan at his best playing with Clapton and San Diego when they do motherless children the whole band is Rocky and you can see them smiling at each other

Goddamn! Eric was all charged up here and that's all because of the robust engine who drove this performance - Steve Jordan. What a great musician he is! Totally loved this!

Steve Jordan is a good drummer, but he pales in comparison to the splendid drummer Ginger Baker. Their Hall of Fame 1993 performance of this classic is extraordinary. Pure magic. Ginger and Jack played So Deep in the pocket in it. Ginger had an incredible gift of time, which he of course wasn’t afraid to tell you about.

My grandfather got me into 60s-70s rock music, and when I found this video, I was so excited to show him. He said “I remember watching that man play before he wore glasses and had a mustache.” RIP Grandpa 1944-2019
