Может быть контрабас мог выдержать эту энергию, скрипка для такой экспрессии слишком хрупка.

I cannot play this but I consider this to be one of the most difficult compositions for the violin. What an artistic rendition. Thanks for this listening opportunity.
@Deadbushfan1618Ай бұрын
I can play it and I think this piece is truly special in how painful and difficult it is emotionally; despite being hardly as painful as the sight-reading experience I feel it is near impossible to do the piece emotional justice. I think that this piece is so intense, beautiful, haunting, yet energetic (spirited), joyful at parts, and seemingly somewhat depressive, I still seek the middle ground, the perfect emotional balance. I will say that technically it feels comparatively a lot more simple to play than it may seem when observed, at least in comparison to other great mountains in the violin repertoire. A true musical gem, but has the misfortune of being characterised as a showpiece, or considered unplayable (and therefore not played), and many fail to see just how romantic and beautiful this piece is. This rendition is fabulous and if I couldn't play the piece I would think that this interpretation is fabulous, but having played the piece I (arrogantly) find it a lot more difficult to appreciate it: 'too much "bravura"', the thickness of the tone, etc. However, it is still one of the better interpretations that I have heard, although there are far too few recordings out there of this piece.

Misha is a true genius. I got to know him when he was doing the KEMC in Brussels, taking first prize with the Saint-Saëns 3rd concerto. Shortly after, I bought this Melodia vinyl record. Saint-Saens on the other side. He's also living in Ghent, BE where we are. I think he's the only one who recorded all Paganinni 24 caprices on violin and alto. Thanks to the internet, recordings and discs from 'the communist era' keep coming to us. He was not allowed to leave, but we know him !

A new superb chance to hear this recording of a most difficult work making those of us who grew up on #2 of Wieniawski and thought it the bees knees (Stern recorded # 2 with great speed and his fabulous sound, though he never maintained that standard except for a few years) curious if the composer performed it publicly. It is an everflowing cornucopia of complexities. When I studied with Aaron Rosand he thought it was among a handful of the most difficult violin concerti, and I have to agree with him. I know Heifetz described how he first achieved his staccato on this piece, but I know of no recording by him of it. Of course Perlman won the Leventritt with it, and I always thought it helped to have his gargantuan hands as regards the stretches and of course the 10ths to start out with, so exposed, but however Bezverkhni achieved it, I find it so thrilling to hear, and performed lyrically as well. Great that we have wonders like this. Many thanks-Anna Buevich.
