randfee - thanks. Yes, this is far from perfect, it’s just a first experiment! The exposure is at the longest available of 1/8s in video (as far as I can work out anyway). I tried higher ISO, which does brighten the image, but the noise becomes more intrusive. The biggest issue is the moonlight from the Full Moon, which is drowning out the vast majority of stars. I couldn’t see more than magnitude 0 or +1 by naked eye, so I was amazed to see so many stars in the video! I also noticed that far more detail appears when the camera is properly still - I really should use a tripod! Watch out for the next video, which will be shot under darker skies and with far more attention to detail - it should be a small step (or even a giant leap?) forwards. 👍
