How's the helmet for highway riding? Is it much more noisey or turbulent versus normal integral helmets?
@bigladbiking3 ай бұрын
@@nldxl hi, cheers for leaving a question. I do not notice any substantial increase in noise over my "traditional" full face helmet, but i always wear earplugs and have music playing on my fodsports headset. As for buffeting the only real difference i notice is when doing a lifesaver look over my shoulder at motorway speeds. I had to go up two sizes larger than any helmet I've owned. Using an xxxl, the cheek pads were still way too tight. It was unbearable. I took the foam out and sliced those pads in half. Fits perfect. The sun shade mechanism failed very quickly and it was only used a few times. There are A LOT of complaints about this and they haven't made any effort to address the issue that I am aware of. LS2 refused to honor the warranty but Amazon took it back less a restocking fee of $90. Once I started using it, I didn't want to not have it. Great option to using the full visor. Not thrilled with the chin strap lock. Nolan's is better. I used hi temp chimney silicon to mount my lexin com base on the helmet. Nothing else I tried worked. I added electrical tape on the bottom 30% of the clear visor for better sun management. All that being said, I love this helmet, .
@bigladbiking Жыл бұрын
Hi Wayne, thanks for your comment. I found mine to be ok and i had no problems with it. I cannot speak about the warranty as i never needed to try to make any kind of claim. My only complaint is the length of the chinstrap, I would like it a bit longer for ease of doing up but after a bit of advice from my local bike shop (Dobles in Coulsdon UK) i found if i pulled the helmet forward slightly the strap was long enough (but still a bit fiddly) I prefer the microclip fastners to the double d shackle as well. LS2 UK were easy enough to get hold of when I had a question and the chap was nice and helpful so maybe customer services in different countries have different standards or maybe i was lucky. I used the 3m tape that came with the Fodsports comunication device and it held up through rain and shine no problems. Ride safe Pete

You might want to reconsider putting the tv on top of the crate. The dog will hate being in the crate while you’re watching tv (loud noise and sensitive ears). You want the dog to be able to go curl up in his bed and feel safe whenever he wants, day or night.
@bigladbiking2 жыл бұрын
Hi Julie, thanks for watching and getting in touch. Billy is not going to be crate traied i the strict sense of the term and he is quite happy popping in and out of his den geting his toys, relaxing and we play scent games around the lounge through out the day including hiding treats in his den. The door is not closed whilst we are in the room and Billy spends more time curled up with us on the couch than anywhere else in the house. If he showed any signs that the TV was bothering him then we would obviously reconsider the location, but as we do not have the tv that loud he is quite happy. It is a good point though, and each owner should consider the temperment of their dogs before putting their tv on the crate. The TV is placed on top of a section of 5mm neoprene the dampen direct vibration from the speakers to the crate. cheers Pete

@@bigladbiking Hey, thanks for the reply. The thing is that the LS2 explorer doesn't have speaker pockets to it which makes it very difficult to fit the speakers inside the helmet. I tried many positions but nothing helps, the speakers hurt my ear really bad and even scratched my ears while removing the helmet. If I hide them under the cheek pads, the helmet becomes too tight. The only thing I need is the photo of your speaker position so that I can copy it and see if that works for me. And if you're interested in making a video on it, it will be very helpful for the other fellow Ls2 Explorer owners. Thanks once again <3

I think if you hit your helmet hard enough to punch those little screws through the helmet and in to your head then you would probably not need to worry about the screws because of the rest of the trauma.
