That joke with the woman being strangled is just plain...wrong. I did read somewhere he hated women and this sketch proves it.

Calling David Frost a “television commentator” was a deliberate put-down by Thatcher. His facial expression showed it made an impact. Frost was a renowned journalist, writer, producer and talk-show host who had by this time had interviewed many people of note, including Nixon.

Real humour that is funny does nto care about laughing at people for whattever reason because those involved laugh at themselves more than anyhone and no it is/was not PC becasue it was funny - modern humour is so busy trying not to be offensive it is totally unfunny there is no joy or fun in it - or it is trying to be intellectual which is just as bad if not worse - these guys were funny to the point you cried and rolled around the floor - stereotypes? that is how people are defined and described people need to get over themselves
@MikeHenrickDeocampoDeocampo15 күн бұрын
It's quite ashame that jokes and humours are now offensive to people nowadays, one small joke about it and people will get mad at you and call you racist for doing it. I know their reasons but its not that enjoyable anymore like it was used to be.

This interview is a perfect synopsis Hollywood studio politics and palace intrigue. Welles knew far too much about the machinations of the system and had far too much courage to ever work well within it. The cowards who built the system built the system to reward themselves and others gripped by cowardice and mediocrity, traits Welles severely lacked.

Having been born in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa in 1943, I remember The Goons on the radio, channel BBC. If I were away from home on a Sunday evening, i needed no provocation to be home by 6pm. when The Goon Show began! I remember the very last show, involving the then Prince Charles, but it was nothing like the shows of the past! Somehow, the advent of TV has done nothing for the Goons, in my mind, because the magic of radio forced the listener to IMAGINE the character! This made the Goons what they are and what they remain to be in my mind. I have a few of Spike's Books, and they never age nor lose their magic! What a team!

She was not able to tell the public that they had new technology and could intercept the Argentinian message to fake leaving and go back and and sink the British ship. She could not let the world know that they had this technology, this is why she says in 30 years you will know the truth. The Capetian of the Belgrano confirmed all of this in his book 25 years later.

A very not-funny man. But it's become taboo to actually say that. Spike is/was not funny. There, I've said it. He got lucky with his career, but has a certain arrogance when you see his true character shine through during his many TV interviews. I see a quite a selfish man, who believes all the platitudes that have been voiced around him. He was definitely of a depressive nature, but he probably suffered from what we would now call PTSD, that is not his fault obviously. There was 'a war on', as they used to say. So humour is very subjective. Personally, I never 'got' Terence Alan Milligan's sense of humour. I'm fairly sure many people will disagree, but 'Spike' was not funny and had quite a dark side professionally and personally. However, rest in peace Terence. Love and peace.
