As a kid in the 1970s, we walked, saw a hole, tapped it, if it squirted, you dug As fast as you could by hand, angling toward the ocean. After digging was over, you added corn meal to the bucked of clams to flush out sand inside the clams as they ate/injested it.

В этом году мы познакомились на Чёрном море с мужем и женой, которые ловят рыбу таким способом. Только они это делают после заката. Используют мощный фонарь и идут вдоль моря несколько километров. Иногда удачно.
@user-xy6ul3sk8u26 күн бұрын

Thank you for posting this video and educating me and my son. We Crab a lot in the Tacoma and Seattle areas and we wish we could crab more often. Now I know thanks to you we can do it year round. I was reading up on Marine Area 2 and this is correct but it does state "must retain back shell while in the field" Does that mean we put the back shell off and just throw it back in the ocean? I'm not familiar with this process. I have only had to something similar with Oysters.
@shawnco0722 күн бұрын
Some people clean the crabs at the beach/pier. So if you clean 3 crabs in the field (at beach or pier) you need to keep/retain the 3 of those back shells on your person. If you discard the back of the shell, you wouldn’t be able to prove it was a legal size if you were approach by the fish & wildlife game warden. Hopefully I explained that well for you.

I’m moving to the Tacoma area in a few months, are there any specific beaches you recommend for crabbing?
@larisamead23520 күн бұрын
@@kaseyo6832 Yes, so many to name. But we crab right off the docks near Ruston, I think its called Les Davis Public Fishing Pier.

@journeywithchong2 ай бұрын
I don’t blame you or others for feeling this way. I’d love to hear what you and others think of our thought process: 1. We would like to teach others that animals are intelligent and that we can catch our own food without harming other species. Many animals are injured or killed due to bycatch on a small to large scale. We like capturing crabs this way because it doesn’t result in bycatch and we learn about their intelligence this way. 2. It is also harmful to support non-organic agricultural fields that use pesticides that harm bugs, take land away from wildlife, or use synthetic nutrients that cause runoff to bodies of water. We try to grow everything we consume but that requires we make our own soil using animals we harvest. Sadly, organic sources for nitrogen, phosphorus, and calcium that support plant growth and nutrient intake come from decomposed animals. 3. It is harmful if we do not realize the importance of local and organic resources to support our own ecosystems. We should teach people to use food remains as an organic fertilizer/compost for native plants. Many of these native plants require nutrients to provide flowers for pollinators (bees, hummingbirds and butterflies) and berries for seed spreaders (rabbits, mice, squirrels, deer, and birds) year after year. We want to encourage more native plant growth using animals to help other parts of our ecosystem. 4. Majority of soils used for gardening use remains from animals like feather meal, bone meal, and leather dust. We prefer to make our own expensive soil and can teach others how to save money by creating their own soil as well. Hopefully this helps explain why we do what we do since I haven't addressed this. I'm currently working on a video on this but some details are in our community section ❤️.

So as long as anyone is following the laws and rules set by the State and Federal Government. Who gives YOU the right to tell anyone what they can and can not do?? Its liberals like YOU that think you own the world that are the problem today. If you don't like it, Mind your own business and move along.

@journeywithchong2 ай бұрын
Haha it does look intense without context 😂 I had like 20 chickadees that started to shower in the hose water while I watered the garden last summer. Then they would fly into the pine branches to preen themselves against the branches like it is a car wash. Even though we have a bird bath. The banditry of chickadees don’t come around unless I’m watering the garden and would often fly into the line of fire. I’ll see if I can record all of them do that this summer.
