Thanks guys for an absolutely brilliant and most entertaining video. I always liked Mick as a racer, sorry Steve. I remember drooling over both Mick's and Barry's bikes when they were at Boyer's of Bromley. Used to hear a booming voice from the spares department saying, "dont you go sitting on it". Or words to that effect. Happy days, thank you so much.

I went to Brooklands earlier this year, basically to see their Concorde. The Stratospheric Chamber was such a good surprise - spent ages there learning about it. So impressive and all the Brooklands volunteers are helpful and enthusiastic. Highly recommended.

Very nice 1964 Chevrolet Corvair FC 95 Greenbrier Sport Wagon, & a very nice job on making the conversion to the camper conversion. The engine is not the correct engine for a FC 95; The engine in this vehicle is out of a Corvair passenger car; That is why the oil fill tube is not in the correct place. On a different note the Porches engine of that time is like a Corvair engine as Chevrolet had developed the air cooled flat 6 seven years before Porches for a automobile application.

Please stop blaming gyroscopic effects for the difficulty of flying planes like the Sopwith Camel. While gyroscopic forces *are* a thing, especially in rotary-engined planes, the most common problem was poor understanding of aerodynamics and pilot training. This was the dawn of aviation, so designers didn't know how to predict or control a plane's handling characteristics, so their planes often had sudden and vicious stall characteristics. Pilots didn't have effective training on stall recovery or other difficult maneuvers. The Sopwith in particular had a further problem: it required enormous force on the control stick to move the ailerons, but very little force on the control stick to move the elevator. These unexpected differences frequently caught rookie pilots (who'd learned to fly on the comparatively stable BE2) by surprise with fatal consequences.

The Adams Farwell rotary throttled by variable compression. The purpose of the Castor oil was to lubricate the machine from the crankcase, like a 2-stroke. An oil miscible in gasoline would not do, so the inferior but non-miscible Castor oil was chose. The engine ejected the oil, all rotary radials did, as it was impossible to retain against the centripetal tendency. The downside of this is that Fllight time is limited by coolant reserves (there is a tank),, while the upside is that the engine always has fresh, pure oil lubrication.

If you go onboard Brooklands Museum's Viscount Stephen Piercey and look carefully amongst all the Viscount models in the glass cabinet, you should find there's one Viking - very possibly the type you remember.
