Enjoyed your video & looking at your projects. I haven’t used glow in the dark floss before - is it a bit more finicky like Krenik? I am currently enjoying working on autumn stitches - ready to find a cute turkey to stitch next🦃.

Thank you! Yes, the glow in the dark is a little fiddly, it likes to shred at the ends a lot and one ply sometimes gets stuck and just isn’t as smooth as Dmc. I’m planning to start a turkey from Lindy Stitches in November. Let me know what you start! ❤️

someone may have already suggested this but there's a flosstuber Stitcherista. She has a lot of videos. In one of them from about 2 years ago is about how she paints perforated paper. The title is Coloring Perforated paper. If you just put perforated paper in the search bar on her channel, it should come up. Good luck

Hi! 18th century blackbird isn’t a purple, it’s a dark fabric, close to black but not really - it’s hard to describe. Google it to see a pic. Although I think a purple fabric would be fun, too!

I struggle with 40 count to and put off those projects as i need to use the freeatanding mag lamp i have, but people say that if you stick to 40 you get used to it, i hope one day thats me as stitching on 40+ looks gorgeous to me. I rather disagree with the process/progress stitching thing, for me i stitch mostly because its calming for me but i love finishing something and having that achievement, but i never framed or finish things into display items, i dont really have the skill, nor am i that fussed to learn. I do mass starts, where i start a bunch of things over a couple of weeks because i stress over starting things, measuring it all up etc, so just having a load of things started makes things so easy for me, but often ill stick to one thing and finish it, even with having maybe 15 things in bags already started. I did get a new pss today that im eager to finish, so may start that on the weekend.

Luci says "meow!" to ur 🐈!!! 😊 Love all the progress u have made on ur wips! I have purposely avoided those tiny towns at allllll costs cuz I'm a completist so know id need to get em all, but seeing how great urs r makes me reeeaaaallllllly want to start collecting them to make a similar type finish! Love how u display yours! I would keep the 👻 with the regular floss. Alltho it'd look neat w the glow in the dark, I know it'd eat me up inside knowing only 1 was glowy, so if it was my project I'd keep it going the way I did the other one. Ur 🎃 🐌 start is too cute! I had gotten the 💀 pattern from stitch crypt at the release, but I want to eventually get the snail, too. Happy stitching 🐈‍⬛🪡❤️ Happy stitching!

What is a “sampler”?
@molliemcmaker
@molliemcmaker 24 күн бұрын
I think the definition varies, I think a sampler is something that has a collection of motifs all over it, usually smaller motifs but not always, some say it has to also have an alphabet, I personally call things without an alphabet samplers too. I don’t know if there is an official definition somewhere. 🤷🏻‍♀️😰❤️

I love your trio of Halloween houses! They look so good stitched together. Do you have the total number of stitches for Mary Morgan's? I feel like the only way I can determine how much work anything is is seeing the total stitch count. Even though I can somewhat visualize width x height, I always end up being surprised at how long something actually takes 😅

Wow, all ur wips look great!!! The colors on Mary Morgan r stunning!!! I have about 17 wips currently (and more to start on deck lol). I used to be a monogamous stitcher til I fell down the rabbit hole of flosstube😂... I usually only work on 1 project a day; I recently attempted to do the "thread a day" w one of my wips, but I found myself going past that anyway. I'd finish that 1 thread and then I'd say well, there's only about 30 stitches left of that color in this area so lemme just finish that part up, and then I'd end up doing that and thensome...next thing I know I've been stitching on it for some time and now I'm out of time to work on my other plans. And I find it takes extra work to put the 1 project away, and get all set up for the next project, so I've just been working on 1 wip steadily for a few days and when I get bored of that I'll move onto another wip. I want to work on EVERYTHING 😂 but I noticed that when I touch too many things I don't see progress. Yea I may get 150 stitches on each of 3 projects, but it looks like more when I get 450 on 1 project if that makes sense lol. But who knows, 2 weeks from now my whole outlook could change I'm really bad at sticking to original plans I make for myself lolol Happy stitching! 🐈‍⬛🪡❤️

Oh my goodness, I LOVE Philanthropic Pumpkin!!! I have been looking for that pattern EVERYWHERE! No wonder I can’t find it. I will live vicariously through you and get to see it come to life. Maybe one day I can get my hands on that pattern. I stitch on many different things in one session but it really depends on if I’m having trouble with keeping my interest on a project. So, I may pick up a project that I want to get some work on but if I find myself getting bored or frustrated then I will put it down and grab another one. However, if I pick up a project and I’m seriously enjoying myself then I will just work on that one until I pass out. Lol.

Regarding stitching on multiple projects in one session, I do a mix of things. Sometimes I happily zoom along on one thing. Sometimes I hit a milestone or finish a motif and want to put it down, so I will switch. And sometimes the thing I thought I wanted to work on is bugging me for whatever reason so I will switch to something else. The only must have chart I've seen from the marketplace releases is the Sprouting Lupine design with the wolf. I think it will be a nice companion for The Unicorn's Garden!

Ok, so what sewing machine do you use? My family took me to a dealer and I told them that I wanted to make bags (for myself and some friends only) and finish some at home projects like fixing clothes and making curtains etc. They put me in a Janome machine that made it through 3 Vinyl front bag before we started having problems. After many many trips to the dealer for troubleshooting, the Janome Tech (who was phoned in) told me that they put me in the wrong machine… I’m so mad. They won’t give me a full refund so I can get the correct machine. It’s a mess. So, I’m trying to see what machine people use who make bags similar to my style.
@molliemcmaker
@molliemcmaker 2 ай бұрын
I have a Janome MC7700 that I bought 12 ish years ago (maybe? I don't really remember how long) and it works pretty well, I do have some trouble sometimes getting through many layers, but I also use my walking foot when sewing bags and that is super helpful, If your machine has a walking foot try that if you haven't already, or consider getting one if your machine doesn't have one if it is something you can add on. If I were to get a new machine, I would probably consider something like the Juki TL2010Q, but this only does straight stitch and nothing else, I know a lot of people who have these and love them.

@molliemcmaker

I think it is 16 gauge, it’s the one with the yellow paper. I think I also bought one with the pink paper before too. I usually just feel it in the store, there is one that is super thin, I don’t use that one.
