It’s the liquid money supply, most supply curves tend to be horizontal. Is there an exception to that?

when differentiating, why is ak to the alpha not treated as a constant, as it is a multi-variate function no?
@stevewhite1110 Жыл бұрын
you're right, when partially differentiating with respect to L the AK^alpha part should be and is treated as a constant

If Currency and Deposits are the same, shouldn't CR be equal to 0.5? If CR = 1 then there won't be any deposits? Maybe I'm missing something but this is a bit unintuitive.
@stevewhite1110 Жыл бұрын
I think you might be thinking of cr as "the fraction of the money that is held as cash/currency" (C/(C+D)) which suggests 1 is an extreme value, the highest possible value. The definition here is cr = C/D, not cr = C/(C+D) so 1 isn't an extreme or unusual value, it just means C = D.

Since Uo > Ui > Uii > Uii how should be graph how unemployment evolves over time given that s and f are constants. Is the curve negatively sloped? please help. Thanks
@stevewhite1110 Жыл бұрын
Yes, for examples like the one in the previous video where the U values get smaller over time a plot the UE rate against time would be negatively sloped. But in other examples, like one where U_0 = 0, you can see the U values increasing over time and then the UE rate against time would slope up showing UE increasing. The best way to understand this is to make up some starting values for U and E then use the model to calculate the U_1, U_2, U_3, etc. values and plot them against time, e.g. plot (1, U_1), (2, U_2), ... and you'll see the pattern.
@tims42832 жыл бұрын
Thank you for such an excellent video - super helpful. Please can you help with graphing how unemployment evolves over time given the separation and finding rate remains constant and there is no major shock to the economy?

Why some books show that mpk= delta plus g plus n
@stevewhite11102 жыл бұрын
if the labor force is growing at rate n that has to be factored in, here that is to f'(k) = d + n

you also need a production function so that you can set up the equation, output = Af(k,l), and solve for A
